Try http://letmeplaythemusic.blogspot.com/.
This blog contains collection of songs I have discovered ranging from mainstream pop to indie rep since existence. Just play, listen and download music.

Assuming all you’re doing is trying to find songs available for download that you already own on CD, tape, or LP, you can run a search on www.thepiratebay.org. Otherwise, some artists have free songs available, or you can pay.

Anonymous failed to mention that you’ll need a torrent client like uTorrent (available here: http://www.utorrent.com/download.php) to use Pirate Bay. While downloading music, videos, games, et cetera that you do not already own is illegal, the client itself is not, and can be used for all sorts of legal purposes.
