Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen — Disable Post Maps or Hide Yourself
Are you looking for information on uploading an avatar or why you aren’t recieving notices on tags you’re subscribed too?
Unfortunately both of these features have been disabled until further notice. Looks like you’ll have to stick with your “letter of the alphabet” avatar. You can also Contact us with any other issues you have.
Note: I’m a robot that the Help.com staff created. If this response is in error, I apologize, please ignore it.
If you don’t post your secrets then nothing to worry about, but otherwise someone who knows you can recognise you if they happen to read your posts.
But you use your real image don’t you?
Yes but then don’t write any posts, I did that only at the beginning but that’s all.
*I don’t write any posts
I don’t want me to be recognisable as me in case people I know use this site…although to be fair I think by reading my posts you’d know it was me, if you knew me…
But a picture makes it instantly obvious.
Yeah. In a quandry now. I might remove it again.

If you don’t feel comfortable with having it there then there is no need to have it up in my opinion. When you are helping a person it’s nice to be able to put a face to them, but it’s by no means essential and there’s no need to be doing it if you don’t feel right about it.

Sounds like good advice, ta.
Thanks for that everyone, I have now changed it to a picture of ‘me’, a shellfish! Just remember not to tell anyone what I look like. :)
I often change my picture as other people do.
Is that a picture of you on top of the Rockerfeller building in NY? I loved it up there.

I guess I made a big mistake posting the picture, I didn’t realise that it would remain forever. And now there is a link so everyone can see it. I guess that my career on here is now over.

well just shoot me for informing you that there is a way to see users old avatars and just about everyone thats been here longer than three months knows about it, would you rather not know and think no one can see it? is ignorance bliss?
Well I’ve only been here a week. Sorry for not being so clever on that.

maybe if you shout yourabi and plead with him, he might remove that pic, i know of one user that got her old pic deleted from her profile page but that was with the old admin jeff
Didn’t mean to sound ungrateful, just shocked it’s still there.
And now I feel so stupid and humiliated.

My sense of humour is returning. Enjoyed viewing, but could not tell which was you cos they were all weird!! :)
Guess I’ll just have to live with it. Let’s face it, most people wouldn’t bother and the rest don’t care.

Yeah, in 2006 on my honeymoon. I loved it, I never bothered with the Empire State Building.

Just joking about the weird, thanks for that, it made me feel better. Nice photos (the real ones.) After all, what’s the big deal really, after all it’s a sight I see in the mirror every day so I’ll live with it. It was my mistake, so you live and learn. I should have known that once it’s out there, it really is ‘out there’ forever. Ho hum.
And it was a really nice reply..

aw shucks I can’t do anything right!
You are doing fine Shellfish.
Anyway, thanks for all the help. Bye everyone, lots of love, Shellfish.
Is that a ‘BIG’ goodbye, or a ’small’ goodbye?
Is this site help.com or trap.com? It makes me paranoid, I don’t want my picture here anymore.
I’m kind of sad I missed the picture. It does help somehow form or solidify the connection with those friends I’ve found here. It’s just nice to see that face of that person who I’m sharing this with. Of course .. I haven’t even completed my profile yet and I respect your decision.

Just follow the link that has been posted above and you’ll see the photo.

I have always hidden behind an anon avatar.
Now I have posted a ‘real’ picture of me and I feel a bit silly. Very exposed. Anyone else feel like that or is it just me?
