A Rose Question

My grandmother used to have a rose bush planted next to her house that smelled like strawberries, but someone stole it. I want to get her another one for mothers day because she’s wanted another one for so long, but I don’t know the scientific or regular name for it. She calls it “Strawberry Rose”, but I haven’t found anything by that name online. If you can help me that would be awesome.

you know? if you could describe it more for me, I’ll search with you online :)
Like could you tell me what color is it’s flower? or what is the shape of it’s leaves or any helpful information?
Well I don’t know lots about roses and flowers but I would like to help you find it, my grandma likes them so much :)

The rose is pink and it’s definitely a bush (shrub). Everything other than that is the problem. The rest of the information I can’t give because she can’t remember that well (she’s 78 next month).

You could try asking on a dedicated forum like this one:

Oh well ok I’ll try to find it, but you’ll know it if you saw it, right? Because there might be lots of shrubs with pink roses

The key I’ve been told is to remember the fragrance: strawberry. According to her there are only two roses that smell like strawberries. One is a climbing rose, the other is a shrub. I need the shrub one.

None of the forums places are helping either, but I haven’t tried Yahoo Answers yet.

I was googling “rose bush that smells like strawberries” and one of the search results looked very promising. It said something like, “to me, the fragrance smells like strawberries. It is my favorite rose bush.” Or something like that. But my computer refuses to load the link, so someone else will have to check it out.

Ahhhh! I found it! I got my granny to come over and identify it for me. Here’s the link for all those interested. It’s NOT called a Strawberry Rose. It’s named after some dude… LOL…

It is odd that it has “Ingenious” in the name… did she see your screen name here?
