girl help: Hello everyone, - Help.com

Hello everyone,

I’m writing because I truly need help. I’m a single parent of 2 (boy 14 girl 16). Husband abandoned us since 1999. It’s been extremely hard since he left us. I’ve been doing his job and mines since he left. When my son was chosen to play basketball for his school I was elated. But, problems occurred when I learned that I had to pick him up from school every practice and along with that make a decision on my new job. So I prayed constantly and decided to put my job on hold. Now he run track and I’m having the hardest time getting a ride to the school because someone stole my car off of I-4. My son even told me a few weeks ago to pawn his X-Box 360 and I was deeply sad to hear that. I really don’t have family who like to help but when I was able to help my family I did. What I pray for now is that someone can loan me 500.00 down payment to get my car so I’m able to work and take better care of my children with transportation. My daughter has been stressed out since her dad left and she’s developing health problems because of it. It’s hard to write this letter to the public. Please I really need help. Thank you

I’m sorry for your difficult situation. People here are glad to listen and give advice, but we don’t give money. Sorry.

You’re welcome. I’m no financial wiz, but others may be able to give you some direction. And people here can be very good friends, and support one another emotionally/spiritually, so welcome. I have 2 kids, somewhat younger than yours. Is your husband not liable for child support payments, or did he just disappear?

I believe he’s working without using he’s SSN. He build houses and I seen him last year and ask him about helping me support his children. Of course he said yes in my present but after that I heard nothing from him. I have complied with child support agencies but they haven’t found him working.

On the bright side I do have 2 beautiful children and everytime my son run track he comes in 1st place and all the high school is fighting over him. All that to say this my children gives me hope.

I’m impressed with your son’s accomplishments. Hopefully you can teach him how to respect women and family, since his father won’t.

Yes, that what I teach around here first and far most respect. He’s school loves him so much. When I go to teachers and parent night they speak highly of him especially his manners. He’s 14 and 6 “2 by the way.

I want to thank you for all of your responses. You make me feel a bit comfortable.

In all honesty,
Bre
