How Do You Track a Spammer?

I have an email account that is apparently being used by someone else. I get messages in my junk folder from companies(no personal emails, just ads and websites this person has joined). They are using my email, I don’t like this. How do I get this person stopped? Is there an internet police?

Mas,

I like the second idea. I have had this email address for many, many, many years, since the 90’s. Does AVG have a website..like avg.com and do you know if they do this for a Mac?

I’m not quite sure but if you mean you don’t want to receive spam you can try to change privacy settings.

The issue isn’t about not receiving spam. It is that a specific person is using my email address, I don’t know this person, I am not sure how they got it but I will get emails in my junk box and I have opened one or two them and when it shows my email address, next to it, it says this man’s name not mine.

Yes I have used my credit card online, rarely but yes. I have also opened my bank account to view my account balance online.

Is the sender’s address the same or those mails are sent from different addresses? In first case you can block it.

The sender’s address is not the same, I get all kinds of junk mail sent to this guy who is using my email.

I don’t have IBM, I am on a mac. No windows xp here.

Yes I am sure it has his name on it where it says TO: it shows his name and in parenthesis my email address.
