Year help: I was just left on Friday (over text which was no fun) after two years of being with someone. - Help.com

I was just left on Friday (over text which was no fun) after two years of being with someone.

As far as I was concerned we were fine and then he texts me with “I’ve found someone who makes me happier.”

Don’t get me wrong if he wasn’t okay with me then by all means I’m glad he’s found someone else. It just hurts knowing that he has someone right away and I’ve hit the all-stop. Just wondering if something like this has happened to anyone else and if they have any advice.

YES. I know exactly how you feel. about 5 months ago my girlfriend of 5 years told me the same thing. The best advice I can give you is to just let it go. Oh, and don’t rush into any new relationships. Take some time for yourself, hang out with your friends. It’s the only thing that helped me.

Yes. It has happened to me. I would get mad and jealous that my ex had found someone right away while I went almost 5 months without meeting or hooking up with anybody else. The best thing to do is to sit back and reevaluate what you hope to get out of your next relationship and reasses your priorities for your next relationship. As a matter of fact, take a break from relationships. The more you look to have a relationship again, the less you will find it.

That’s my problem though :/ I’ve found that filling that “other half” is what I want in life and now it’s empty again when I had foreseen a future to some extent. And believe you me… I’ve been with friends every second I can. Though I’ve also been trying to meet new friends and locate some kind of spark at the same time. I’m not exactly in a rush… I just know what I’m wanting.
