I need help finishing a guitar.

I have an idea to use newspaper articles as the finish, but I need a way to clearcoat over them without destroying the paper. Any ideas? I’m thinking to use some sort of epoxy to glue the paper the the guitar then wet sand it and just clearcoat over that but I don’t know how that will hold up with the paper or a clearcoat over epoxy.
