Suicide Urge.

I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who responded to my posts, I was really surprised at the response and concern. Especially Mas. I was so close to doing it at the weekend and so frustrated because I felt guilt about my sister. By writing it all down on here got some frustration off my chest. When I came back on and read all the responses I was very touched. I am still depressed obviously, but at this moment in time I am holding on. So thank you all and Help.com.
Hopefully I will do a humorous post shortly when I’ve had a rest lol. So I don’t end up driving you all into a deep depression LOL. THANKS AGAIN. At least I know if I get desperate again I can come here and talk to someone. As my sister and friends have so much on their plates at the moment. I hope I have been of help and can be of help to anyone else myself.

Look around and see how many people have it worse than you have it. In your present state, open your eyes that have no hme, no legs or arms, can’t speak, cannot feed themselves, living in the street, hooked on drugs, no job with an entire family to support, accident victim and so forth and so on…then your life may seem very good. Please seek professional help. It may be as simple as calling a suicide hotline in your area. Good Luck!!! I hope you make the right choices. And, I hope I see another post here from you years from now!!

You obviously have not read my other 2 posts. The 1st 2. When I was bad. I know even though I am ill and disabled that there are a hell of a lot more people worse off than me. But if you have ever suffered from depression, then you should know thats no help. Thanks

OMG - now I know why you should not make assumptions. Reliableexperience - you dont know who you are writing that to. You do not know their circumstances. I would change my screen name to Unreliableassumptions if I were you. That’s what you just made. I think it’s brilliant that the support of this online community has maybe eased Mariabad1’s depression every so slightly. Did it ever occur to you that not everyone just ‘gets’ depression. Ill-health, accidents, there are many causes for this dreadful affliction. As for looking around for people worse off than yourself - you are technically suggesting that a depressed person immerse themselves in the woes of others. Is that reverse logic therapy?

My pleasure dont think anyone meant bad but it did open my eyes to the fact that I actually know nothing about what took some people to the place they are in. I’ll be a lot more careful with my replies too. Hope I wasnt too harsh on that reply - it’s just.. well you know why I would strongly disagree that you go looking for people who have it worse than yourself lol I left you a shout

You know, sometimes deppression is not the only thing that makes us deppressed. Sometimes we get deppressed for no apparent reason. Deppressed people are easily susceptible to the woes of other people. It affects them probabley double or triple to see somebody else deppressed. So I would not look at at somebody worse off than me to just say, “they have it worse than me” so I should feel better. I have to look at my own situation and maybe try to make it better. Anyway I would know how.

Hi, Mariabad1. I am gald you feel much better. I hope I don’t bore you to tears with what I am about to tell you. If I do, please tell me.
You see, everyday if so full of possibilities. You wake up in the morning and see the day beginning and you have to prepare for what you can accomplish on that day. For some people the mere getting out of bed is an accomplishment in itself. For others just being able to hug their spouses or their children and tell them that they love them is a huge accomplishment. I know. I went through that about 15 years ago when I had a nervous breakdown and thought my life was over. The trick is to take baby steps and take one day at a time. Don’t rush. Be patient with yourself and above all be kind to yourself. Most of us are very unforgiving with ourselves and we tend to be our own biggest critic. And, sometimes we tend to be our worst critic and an unkind one. Start by giving yourself the chances that you think or perceive others have denied you. Give yourself the time that you need and everything will fall into place whether you make it happen or it does it by itself. Once the chaos ends you will see everything clearly and sometimes more organized than you actually thought it was. Just keep on living and trying.
I have come a long way from those bleak days where I thought that noone cared for me and that it would be better if I was not in this world. I wanted to end it all.
Your struggles sometimes try their damndest to keep you down. They are your biggest enemies. But your real triumphs are within yourself. To keep going, to keep breathing, to keep yourself as normal as you can is really your own real struggle. That can be the real fight. But, as long as you are brething, there is always hope. You never want to lose hope. And, my God, never give up trying. Your life is the most precious thing that you have.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again to you mariabad1. God gave us this life as the most precious gift that he could give us. The accomplishments that we do with this life are our gift back to God. And believe, he is never dissappointed if we don’t accomplish great things. In this world we are meant to stumble and fall. His forgiving heart is always there to love us. His guiding hand is there to guide us in this cruel and unkind world.
Always come back here. Always be here when you feel down. Most of us here love you and would miss you if you weren’t here. And, certainly all of us would be completley saddened if something bad was to happen to you. In this cyberworld where we are communicating right now is about the only knowledge most of have you you. But, we know that you are a human being that deserves to keep on living this life that God gave you. But, we have come to know you and at least know that you are a wonderful human being who deserves all the chances that the rest of us have to keep on living and trying.
I am so glad that you feel much better maribad1. If anytime you feel like talking to anybody and you feel down on yourself, look for all these wonderful people here at help.com willing to listen and comfort you in just about any way that they are able to. I hope I have said the right things to you. Never lose hope. Never give up. As long as you are alive there is always another day ahead of you full of hope and great, tremendous, possibilities. God Bless You and I wish you the best.
