friends help: What is the meaning of life, - Help.com

What is the meaning of life,

When you feel there’s a hole in your heart,
Never do you really feel you belong,
Inside your falling apart,

From the loneliness that surrounds you,
A burden only you can bear,
None of your friends can help you,
Even though they truly care,

For the feelings come from deep within,
The very being of your soul,
And the only ones who can really help,
Do not realize they can make you whole,

Because they are like the others,
And see only the mask you wear,
The fact that inside your dying,
Is something that does not appear,

And for every day that passes,
Supposedly you grow strong,
But constantly asking yourself,
How much longer can you truly go on.

Great poem. I know a that mask is hard to take off. But to be happy and find “the meaning of life” you need to be you and show your true self. Show your pain so you can heal it.

i really believe the mask is the only thing that keeps me going.. for if i were to take it off… im afraid it would be like turning on the hose with no way to turn it off..

It will feel like that at first. But most of the pain you feel is because you are hiding it and not dealing with it. Once you have talked openly and gotten feedback about it, you start to feel better. It takes time and you may feel worse before you feel better. Better does come and it is worth it.

i really wish i could believe in that.. i do believe in the better part being worth it, its just that i do believe my pains will be a part of me for eternity.

I do not know what your pains are only that they sound deep. But even deep wounds can heal. They do leave a scar but a scar does not hurt like the wound.

that is true, but along with the scars remain memories and those do hurt like a wound when they are thought about. I do my best to try and not think of them but they do find their way into the mind. Recently a lot of these memories have been finding their way and manipulating their way into my dreams which has been bringing me down a significant level.

I think when they are in your dreams, it is like your mind is trying to force you to deal with them.

I can think about my painful life experiences and it no long causes me pain. Actually the reason I am awake right now is because something triggered a memory. I was trying to trace my thoughts to see what triggered it. That is what kept me awake. The memory itself does not feel bad. It is just thoughts without emotion.

that does make sense, my mind forcing me to try and deal with them. but how do u deal, what am i suppose to do, sit and cry for days? there have been a few times this week where i have woken up with tears in my eyes and it sucks. But I still do not know how to get past it, or stop it, or anything.

For me, what was the start of my healing process was talking about it. I talked to my then boyfriend (now husband). Then I talked to a therapist, then my family. Now I can talk about it openly. To get to the point of fully healing took years. Sorry to say but it is a long process. It involves forgiveness work.

What has helped me the most is changing my thought process. Positive thinking. I learned it through my church but you do not have to have any certain religious beliefs for positive thinking to work for you. But if you feel a you can tap into that spiritual support, it is the best.

Good night, I am going to go back to bed. I think I can sleep now.
