Probab;y better selling the car and getting a new one when your short-term problem is solved. Or negotiate a small payment monthly with your lenders until you are back on your feet. Get the daughter out to work and sell things on e-bay that you dont need. You’ll be fine then

how can i sell a car that i dont have a title to. also my daughter has worked hard for her degree she has one year left, dont feel i can ask her to do that. Thank you for your suggestion

Not sure what your credit is like but you might be able to get a loan to consolidate and have a smaller payment. Just a suggestion not even sure if it is possible just throwing an idea out.

So basically you need 12 grand not an answer - just a way of getting 12 grand - would that be right?

Why dont you ask the university you work at to lend you the money in the interim. Still say the daughter has to contribute though - loads of kids pay their own way through school. It’s a life lesson - that it doesnt all come easy and there can be obstacles to overcome

The hardest thing I ever did was feed me and my children when I got hurt and my husband left in the middle of that. Many nights I would tell my girls I wasn’t hungry for supper and then after bedtime I would eat what they didn’t. Your daughter is old enough to understand and should want to help ease your stress while you are hurting. She is not too good to work a little and help you out if she wants to stay there another year. Life is definitely a bed of roses and sometimes God lets us go through these things to show us the important things in life. Financially if I could I would refinance my home if I had to and maybe consolidate my bills. I don’t know how long you will be off work but all I can say be so thankful that you will be able to go back and resume your life like normal. So many of us will never have that opportunity or luxury. God bless

Maybe I was not clear in my answers. My daughter does work, when she is not in class she is at work. Believe me I am blessed because I know things could be worse and I know there are people out there who are worse off. I thought this site would give me some suggestions that I have not thought of. My university does not lend money to employees. I was on short term for a year, the school paid, now I am waiting on the decision from the state, I thought if I could pay off the car it would release enough money for me to make it from month to month. Sometimes you hear things you did not think of and I thought someone could give me that, the situation I am in I don’t wish on my worse enemy, so bless all of you that are geniune in your responses.

Why dont you read the post from today - Seven kids and dont have a dime - it went something like that - there were ideas flying around in there for getting thru hard times take a look. It really did get helpful after a shaky start

Sounds like this disability is more serious than you first suggested. Would you be fit enough to work from home and couldnt your university farm out work to you? You could type up papers have an internet connection straight to them. I really would recommmend starting with people you have already worked with in your career.

I have a chronic back problem. i could sit at my computer in intervals. It was just in my job I was unable to perform all of the duties requested of me, standing, lifting and sitting at the computer for hours on end. I feel I could work at the computer on and off during the day.

I am going to ask the university if they have something like that.

Also you could do certain types of telephone work from home: Recruitment is what I do - there are ways around this

look at websites like this one - not that specific job but the site itself. you are going to have to accept that for the moment you are incapacitated but it doesnt mean you cannot put all of your talents into another field. I’ll look for some more and leave them as I find them. I know it’s not the exact answer you are looking for but it would do no harm to look. I’ll drop back here with what I find.

The point is that most government agencies have a proactive recruitment policy and will accommodate people who want to work from home. There is a bit of looking around before you find the right thing and if you are not a good Googler give me a shout and I’ll send you hundreds more like these.
