My brother and I have been living with our mom and step - dad for about 10 years.

Our step- dad got arrested [I’m not allowed to talk about the case] and my dad feels it is unsafe for us. My mom and step-dad went to court and my dad won. The judge they saw has a strong dislike for my mom though. Just last month they went to court again and my dad won [only because this was a new judge and she was afraid to over rule what the previous judge decided]. Ever since then my brother and I have been very depressed. I have been cutting myself about once or twice a month. My brother and my dad got into a screaming fight the other night. Also something that hasn’t helped me is two people that live near me I almost always hung out with and now they won’t talk to me whatsoever. I have so much anger and sadness inside of me i don’t know what to do with it. My brother and I really badly want to live with our mom again. Until the stuff with my step-dad gets settled we can’t though. It should be settled very soon. Until then what could I do to help my anger and sadness, and to help my brother out?

Yes but the desicion won’t change until the stuff with my step-dad gets settled. I just wanna know what I can do to deal with my feelings until then.

I’m sorry you are going through this and your right it SUCKS. Please stop cutting yourself, the more things you do that are damaging- the more things the judge can say…. see this kid is hurting himself because of Mom and tep dad and shouldn’t be there. It will sound really strange but seriously…. no matter how much you do not want to…. play the game. Stop cutting your self, go to school, do well this last quarter, make new friends, chin up. If the courts see that despite everything you are going through you are an upstanding kid then when you say I want to be back with my mother, you will have more credability and they will be more likely to put you back with her. If you flip out, do dangerous things… they won;t no matter what.

you just stated you want to know what you can do with your feelings until the dust settles….. get a new hobby, be okay with the fact that you are sad. Nothing worng with feeling sad, but also, move forward with your life anyway. It is also okay for you to enjoy some of the time with your Dad, take this time to get to know him better. You will not be “cheating ” on your Mom and yo might find out some good things. Be open to the change and except all feeling good or bad as they come and know that THIS TOO SHALL PASS

You know, you have the right to state (CALMLY) She is my Mother and I love her please stop saying things that are hurtful to me and my brother about her. I respect your right to have a less then teller opinion of her, please respect my right to love her.
