If you payout to every third contestant … then …
contestant #1 pays in $5 … total $5
contestant #2 pays in $5 … total $10
contestant #3 pays in $5 … total $15
contestant #3 wins the jackpot!
1/2 goes to the club ….. $15/2 = $7.50.
1/2 goes to the contestant …. $15/2 = $7.50.

And this happens the same way for every third contestant, try the math out yourself if you don’t believe it is so. And if three hours after posting this problem you did not find your own solution or solve the problem some other way, well then … I suggest you work on those arithmetic skills anonymous.

Enjoy.
