say how your there for her. How sorry you are, how everyone is, how you’ll do your best to help her.

See if she wants to do anything with you, a fav past time or something.

Not much you can say today but you can do the practical stuff. Cook clean, look after other children. Help with funeral arrangements. Phone people who dont know. Arrange for announcement in local paper when you know when the funeral is. Contact his school. Mostly you need to make sure that she isnt left on her own - the shock of this will not hit her straight away. A 5 year old neighbour here died last year and the Mum seemed fine at first, I think it’s what comes later is when she will need you. Just keep an eye on her.

Remember you will need support of your own at some time - always come back and let people here know how you are coping. Take care

its good to cry on your own. your family need someone strong to hold them all together, soon you won’t be alone. but, your nephews mother will take the longest to recover.

It is hard, I know how you feel, my Grandad died last week and I have just got back today from being away for his funeral.
It is a sad time and it is even harder when you don’t know how you should be feeling or reacting around others who are grieving..
Just be yourself, if you need to cry then just let it out, family gather together at these times to support each other and no one will be thinking anything of you if you cry in front of them or on your own.
Just be supportive of your sister, if she wasnts to talk then listen, maybe she would like someone to share her feelings with and know she is not the only one, like you are feeling now..

Thanks guys. The funerals wednesday. Chose my flowers on Saturday, everything is so overpowering right now. What makes it harder is I have two little boy, my first was born the same year as my nephew, the others birthday is the day before his, but four years apart. She has two other daughters, she always wanted a boy too. I’m finding it pretty hard to cope. I miss him. He brought so many smiles and taught me so much by his short life. Wow this is hard.

Hello Jen - been thinking about you. Will light a candle for him (if you feel like it let me know his name so I can send him a little message when I light it) in the church across from my bedroom window on Wednesday - if you double click my little picture - avatar here you can see the church - that’s what I can see when I’m typing during the day so I can watch it for him on Wednesday and think of you too. You will need to be strong for her right now but also remember that it’s your time to grieve too. You are going to have to be much stronger in the future for his mum. I’m glad you came back because you can get angry here and ask questions that you wont ask anyone close to you. This is the place to ask the impossible question - trust me. I take it you’re having trouble sleeping or are you in a totally different time zone. Mas

His is Morris. I’m from scotland, so it might be, but it is 1:15am hear so I guess you might say I haven’t been sleeping so well. It was a beautiful service, more like a celebration of his life. I hope now where ever he may be, that he could do all the things he never got to here. Thanks again.

I’m Scottish to - born in Beith, Ayrshire. Sorry you arent sleeping so well. It’s not been very long so it will take you a while to maybe get your sleep back. Well now I know we are in the same time zone. I’m in London so anytime you cant sleep give me a shout. A lot of nights I have to work on the computer so you will probably catch me. Take care - marie
