Curious about copper IUD if anyone else has one and

if it causes them problems during their period like severe cramping like drop you to the floor, severe headaches where no pain meds (tylenol, midol, asprin or whathave you) won’t even touch the pain, and to the point where I know this sounds odd but you can’t even use the restroom much else anything with any of those kind of bodily functions… also is there a coppery smell I always smell this coppery smell ever since i’ve had it in I spoke with my doctor before when the issues weren’t as bad but she said I was fine, now things are worse i haven’t gone back because i’ll have to find a new doctor since I moved and go through the embarrassing story all over again.

i’ve never used an iud but according to friends of mine who have, it either works really great or it’s totally the wrong contraceptive for you. i don’t know if the material it’s made from makes a difference. don’t be embarassed. especially if you’re in pain!

Yea go to the doctor immediately. Copper IUD’s do increase bleeding (generally) and can cause some worse cramping (because of increased bleeding) but it shouldnt be that bad.

You may want to try a hormonal IUD.
