On my one year anniversary.

First it is very difficult to believe that one full year has passed and I’ve been contributing fairly regularly to this site. I’ve seen people come and go, and that has been a good thing. I myself have come and gone, and today am no where near as an active user as I used to be.

I do believe this site has value. It certainly has great potential. So what have I learned here?

If you are going to be a long term user to this site I think you can expect:

You will be attacked. It is amazing although you have come here to help people, you will be attacked by someone eventually. This is actually the nature of altruism. People that try to help always, eventually get attacked.

You will have to put up with some pretty stupid stuff.

You will have your eye’s opened on some things… and possibly just be blown away.

If you work things right you will learn some thing.

You will make some friends (at least some internet friends - if not more).

You might fall in love here.

You will be hurt here.

You will be healed here.

You will help here.

I am so grateful for so many people here I cannot make a list. With love and respect….

happy anniversary hun… and what you have listed above is so very very true.. there is one other lesson that i have been taught here as well.. that when you sit trying to help another.. your heart and your stories go out to that person.. trying to show them that you have made it.. so that it is possible for them to get through it as well.. and then once said and done.. you find out it was an entire lie.. almost like a nah nah back at ya… causing some great deal of pain… sad that there are a few trolls on help.com… but again.. as you stated.. being a long term user… you can expect just about anything to happen.. many hugs and best wishes for your anniversary…
