house help: my parents left me alone in the house. - Help.com

my parents left me alone in the house.

i was playing soccer with my lil brother and he got his finger squished(which happens a lot in soccer) and so he went inside to cry to his mom and dad. i tossed the round the ball for a few more minutes then went nside to see what was up(thinking he would have gotten over it. i came in and he was still sobbing, so i walked in got some water and sat down, but realized no one was talking or looking at me or anything it was like they barley noticed me, or didn’t notice me at all.
i couldn’t handle it at all so i walked out of the house and slammed the door, then they all glared at me (especially my step mom who gave me a long look of evil eyes) so i took my bike and went off without telling anyone where i was going. i came back 30 minutes later thinking the would be worried, but it turns out they were gone. they both left to take m little half brother to the doctors. and they left a message on my phone to tell me. what if i had fell off my bike and died or at least got seriously hurt??
would they care? would they be like oh too bad shes dead. well at least now we don’t have to pay for all th food she eats, and we can turn her room in to a guest room!well its not hers anymore, she dead!am i over exaggerating? should i not care?

Is this an isolated incident or have they behaved this way to you before?

YOu really should discuss this with them, discuscs how it makes you feel. This should not be allowed to continue.

Umm, no offence but you are wallowing in self pitty and not seeing the whole thing!
Your little brother, who was playing with you, hurt himself badly enough to have to go to the doctors, you come stomping in without even asking if he was ok! and you expect everyone to tiptoe around you and ask if you are ok or whatever, then because people were not talking to you as they were worried about his injury you storm off without saying where you were going and you expect them to wait around for you before they take him to get medical attention…?

UMM are you seeing this picture now?
Do you think that maybe you could have been a little more sensetive to the situation?

i would but this is totally not the first time they ignore me and hurt me and make me feel really unloved

Yeah but you do understand why they may not have thought to have all their attention on you this time, while they were worried about your brother?
I mean that was a genuin reason, I would not say that you were treated unfairly, If you had hung around and maybe asked how he was I bet things would have gone alot differently.
Sometimes it helps to see yourself through other peoples eyes, is there anything you could be doing that annoys them as much as what they do annoys you?
Respect works both ways and you do have to earn it, if you are acting like this all the time then I can see why they would be a little stressed with you, but it does not mean that they don’t love you. I can be annoyed at my kids sometimes when they do things or say things but I always love them.

Also, you shouldn’t take it to heart. Have you ever thought that maybe your brother isn’t as resposible as you and requires a lot more attention. Trust me, as a parent myself, the independent and more responsible ones are a lot easier to take care of. Just because you don’t get the attention you believe you require, doesn’t mean they don’t love you and wouldn’t miss you.
