I am in thw worst fix ever.

I am a teacher, and single mom, and I love my son beyond words. I am also the sole care giver for my mother, who is now, unfortunately dealthly ill from the end effects of diabetes and renal failure, and my 95 year old grandmother, who does not walk and has dementia. I own the house that my family built, and I am completely over my head in debt. Being a single parent, and taking care of my family has been difficult. Because of overwhelming health care costs, and some bad decisions to refinance, I cannot afford my house. My mother, who is really suffering right now, is not going to be here much longer, so sadly. I still have my grandmother, son, our pets, and a HUGE house note. My credit is a mess, and I need some advice. I have been trying to do the right things, but I am despirately in need of ideas.

Try calling greetree.com or another debt management company. They really can help.

You could also consider filing for ch.13 bankruptcy, but talk to a lawyer first and see if ch.7 or ch.13 is better for you. Your credit is a mess already, this will help you on the path to starting to rebuil your credit again and in your case it sounds like you would keep everything but purge the debt. Bankruptcy attourney’s will usually do a consoltation for free. It doesn’t hurt to consider.

Also, look to see if there are some government agencies who can help with the healthcare. Maybe Mom can go into a hospice or similiar? Maybe a nursing home for Grandma?

I know these are sad and painful things to have to do, but you need to be able to put your life together. That means you have to think of you and your son first.
