My mother is demented.

Have you ever seen Mommy Dearest? Welcome to my life…AND childhood.

I went to help her get her stereo out of her room and said it was broke, why would she want a broken stereo in a open place in the house? I only said it twice. Second time she went off completely.

For 10 whole minutes. At first she started going…”oh my God, oh my God, you lazy mother effer”…then started yelling at me and kept calling me names. I walked away. She kicked my door. Normally it would go deeper than that, she’d punch me or something, this time I guess I got lucky.

She denies it. She was yelling at me, all I could do is agree. Then she says I’m being a smartass. If I respond with something else, it would get worse.

For 10 minutes she kept going on because I said her stereo is broke. Apparently I’m a “lazy mother effer” who “messed up her mood.”

okay, I have to admit this was a little funny to me and made me chuckle. You expressed it so well I could actually visualize it…

Not that I approve any of her words or hitting….but us moms can go haywire once in a while… it probably wasn’t you hun, she was probably mad at someone or something else and you were in her line of fire. Just ignore her and leave it alone.

For godsakes leave the stereo alone for now until she becomes level headed again.

If she acts this way alot though you should really consider talking to a school counselor.

I don’t want to leave her. I’m comfortable with my life and despite this total ******** I love her dearly.

I have an option for a better life. But I don’t want a white picket fence life.

You sound very sarcastic and I’m trying to help you And now your reply about ‘Going Off’? thats exactly why something needs to be done ASAP.It sounds like your already falling into the pattern..Whats going on is affecting you and your children if you have any,it will effect every relationship from here on in.But since you will not leave, try ‘Killing her with kindness’,I know it’s harder with someone like this,and it may seem like its not helping,but it does help.Sometimes a child has to be the ‘Role mOdel

I’m absolutely fine. This is everyday life for me, I’ve learned to cope. Yeah I’m a little sarcastic, nothing to do with you. I try to kill her with kindness I’m coping.

When I have kids things will be way different. Sounds cliche. But my mind’s set.

good, glad to hear it.Really. But I just hope you will get help,even if it’s just self-help if you see or hear yourself starting to repeat her mistakes.So I take it she’s bi-polar? I’m not an expert on illnesses,but I consider myself a expert on this case since I’ve lived what you have,for the most part and I’m bi-polar, so I don’t know if its the bi-polar or just a matter of suppressing feelings,then blowing ‘her top’ behavior.But there is hope for change.I wrote a post on the ‘feelings’ if your interested.Maybe you could get her to read it.Just a thought.http://help.com/post/127790-everyone
