Feel help: Are there any child molestors and pedophiles on help.com? - Help.com

That’s a big unknown and it would be best to be careful. Anyone can make an account here in seconds.

Well, that’s kind of a futile question to ask, because there isn’t any way for us to check each member. Especially their background.

Only way to check would be to ask like you did, but I doubt they would reveal themselves for fear of being exposed.

I wouldn’t be too worried though about that though. Just don’t give out personal information and you will be fine. :)

seeing as you live in america, there may be one living next door to you, go check there first :)

I’m not really sure about this site. I’m not a child who would fear child molestors in particular, but the public internet is a scary-seeming place. I haven’t had people go totally psycho on me here at all to the extent of other places. (and I hope that stays true.)

Sadly, true child molesters don’t think of themselves AS child molesters. They have an excuse for it like “I love children, there is nothing wrong with that.” Blah blah blah. Bullspit!

Sit a child molester down in a room and ask him if he thinks what he’s doing is wrong, and he’ll deny it, and explain why he isn’t. So if there was any here on help.com, I doubt they’d come to this post and think “yup, that’s me”. They’d be sitting there analyzing why they’re NOT one just because they find children “sexually attractive” because of their innocence or whatever sick and pathetic excuse they can use.

Let them all be hung, drawn and quarted, I say. Don’t even give them rights to a computer let alone modern technology.

Oh, and my apologies. I didn’t mean to put “he” in regards to molesters. There’s female ones too.

Well, the correction wasn’t really necessary, most of the molesters are men, so you chose the more obvious of the two. At least they are the more reported…

But I agree with that. When people have a problem that in the beginning they know is bad, but continue to do it, they try to justify it in any way possible, weither convincing themselves and others it’s natural, or dragging others into what they do as well. Kinda like cigarette smoking. It’s bad for you, but people do it, because they are addicted to it.

I think that may be one of the reasons child molesters exist. Because getting the children is easy, and there’s a chance you can even mask up what you did. Truly an insidious and perverted thing to do to one who can’t even fight back.

they probably not sat chatting on a website anyway, they’ll be hanging around the local park or swimming pool, so your probabily safe. just don’t go meeting anyone you chat to online they may not be who they say they are

My guess is YES, and I would also guess that these people “lurk” on many other Web forums, as well. My advice to all younger persons is to NEVER, EVER set up a meeting with someone they don’t know, and without their parents’ knowledge or permission. There are a lot of young people hurting out there, who have dysfunctional families, and they would be very, very susceptible to being “rescued” by some “caring adult.” In addition to not meeting with someone they and their parents don’t know, they should also not give out personal information that would identify themselves, their family, or where they live. I was watching a “sting” operation on television some time ago, and it was amazing how many and what kind of people were “netted” when they knocked on the door of a house where they thought their “prey” was living. One was a rabbi! As for me, I would try to offer advice to someone in a bad situation, namely to seek professional help from trusted counselors, pastors or law enforcement in their own localities, but I would never, ever agree to meet a minor boy or girl, because that is just not the thing to do. So, yes, I’m sure that the pedophiles are everywhere, and younger persons must exercise caution–and that goes for the older persons, too!

I do not know of any here. If you see something suspicious please report it via the red flags. I knew of one supposed pedophile but from what I can remember something happened to them. It was well over a year ago and haven’t heard more since. I am sure there may be users like that here now, but help.com does not support those kind of interactions on here so as I said before, report suspicious replies. Do not leave users shouts along the lines of “You pedophile! get off this site” as you may have your account suspended for harassment. Let us mods take care of it.
