A poem I just wrote…

This is how I feel…

I don’t need it anymore,
You could have given it to me before,
But I don’t want it any longer,
It won’t make me any stronger,
Nor will it help me in any way,
Why can’t you just let me stay.

I used to be so happy,
Now life is always crappy,
And I don’t believe that I can survive,
I just don’t feel alive,
I don’t have to try,
And I will never lie.

Why do you want to save me,
I know I’m free,
I can do what I wish,
I can perish,
Remember my life,
Before I push in the knife.

I didn’t say goodbye,
Don’t ask why,
I just can’t go on,
I feel so withrawn,
I have to say it,
Goodbye I say as I slit.

Yes. I told a counciller and my mum and I don’t try and hide them…. People know I do it they just don’t really care. Tonight I told a friend who also cuts and I was about to die…. Really. I almost jumped off the balcony…. But I’m scared of heights. Have you tried to commit suicide before?

no, thought about it but never gone that far. i told a close friend and they helped for a bit, but then they told the school, and i was told not to talk to her about it as it may effect her grades. this might sound strange but i dont think i want to stop. im i nicer person when i take things out on myself and not others. do you find the cuts get deeper each time?

They did… I stopped a couple of months again and started a few weeks ago and that time it was really deep now they are not quite so bad and there is just lots of smaller ones…. I wish I couls just not try and die…. It’s so weird trying to take your life. The thing is, I have tried so many times. I tried to die the first time when I was 7… I find that so sad.

Yeah thanks allot It’s nice to talk to someone who isn’t judging me… xox I should go and sleep now its half twelve… And I skipped school yesterday so I need to go and have my 5 detentions….. :( I miss 5 periods and get 5 detentions that sucks!!!

Polly & Dolly,
some people do care and hate to “see” young girls who are in such a bad place at the moment.I know it doesn’t help you now but I must tell you that I am 45yrs old now and was cutting at 14yrs (think I may have invented it!)I stopped when I was 17 and look back on that time of my life as the best thing that happened to me. Hard to believe, I know, but it was after that I became strong and I have been strong ever since. It’s a harsh world with lots of unfeeling folks but you must have faith that there are some truly nice ones too - they just take a little longer to find. Good luck to you both.

Polly and Molly: My heart goes out to you both,,,and I’m so sad that you are both in such a place. When we feel so down and not worth anything….it’s difficult to see the potential for happiness or a better life. Depression is a real systematic physiological occurance in ourselves. Talk to professionals and get some anti-depressants. More importantly, find a church or youth group where you can seek some heart and soul nurturing and guidance. Your gift is this life, and you don’t have the right to take it away. That is not your decision,,,that’s Gods. Make a decision to change and then work at it. It is that simple,,,but the “working at it” will be more complicated and difficult;however, you can do it. Stop the pattern of destruction and learn a new way. God Bless you and best wishes to both of you.
