question about external hard drive…

I have a 500 GB external hard drive and at night I usually disconnect the USB from my comp. but do I have to unplug the power plug as well?

well, usually i would… and my friends do, so, I don’t think it’s overly important, but it might warm up your external hard drive…

thanks a lot everyone… oh, I like to disconnect the usb because I don’t want it to overheat or anything, but I usually leave it on
