As the days get closer, i grow more scared.

im having second thoughts. in my previous posts, i stated that in now 2 days i will be in iraq, for my first time. I was confident with all the support I was getting from everyone but now i realize that i really am scared shitless… i duno….

Of course you are scared, only Superman wouldn’t be. It’s a natural reaction and human reaction. It shows you have heart. Only frightened people can show courage, those who seem brave, just end up acting stupidly because they are full of s**t.

You on the otherhand are still going to Iraq, despite being scared, now that’s bravery! You are brave, believe in yourself and those around you. And come back safe.

I agree, you’re an emotional Celt and be proud that you have feelings that you can admit to. As long as you can turn that fear into a healthy appreciation of what is needed in each situation that arises then you will be fine. The anticipation is often the worse part. Warm thoughts from me.
