Help the moderators out?
Ok, we’ve had a few posts lately about moderators, and as feedback I would like to mention a few things you as a user can do, or rather can avoid doing, to help us out. These are only suggestions, and are really small things that are annoying and waste a lot of time on the moderator end.
So here goes:
- If you’re not a long-term user, please don’t sign things with “xxx”, because that sends the reply into moderation needlessly. Also avoiding the word “suck” is a good idea for semi-new users.
- When you report an offensive reply, please don’t quote it. Deleting an offensive reply that has been quoted is useless, because the quote will still be there. So either we have to leave the reply with the quote in it (annoying) or we’ll have to delete both replies (waste of time).
- When you report a troll, you don’t have to report every single reply the troll has made on the same post. We’ll get them on the first one. Keep in mind that you might not be the only person reporting this troll. We sometimes get 5+ people reporting the same reply (which is alright and something we can live with), but if we get 5+ people reporting 10-15 replies from the same troll on the same post, well… you see where I’m going?
These are just suggestions. It’s up to you if you take them or not. I’m mentioning these few, because they are easily avoided, and I see them several times throughout the week (some daily).
Cheers for your time. Any feedback is welcome.
