I loved temping, I did it for years then ended up working for the agency putting workers out into positions. If the job was not so good, you knew you were only there for a while and that made it not seem so bad. If you liked a job and they liked you, you could be kept on!

Down side was there were occasional weeks when the work dried up, or what was on offer was not acceptable.

Oh so sometimes they have you working at that place for a week or more, I thought it was only like a day or two like if someone called in sick. I heard you have to pay them a little ? true ?

Some companies use temps on a regular basis, it’s easier for them than doing the hiring and setting up insurance. I had jobs through Manpower for a while and they were the easiest jobs I’ve ever had. You show up. They say, “Here’s your job.” You do it. You go home. It was amazing how utterly incompetent many of my co-temps were — some people could barely move, it seemed like. My only problem with it was I got into a job where they wanted to hire me on full-time permanently, and put a lot of pressure on me to work there, and that wasn’t what I needed to be doing.

Something as low end as that, you don’t pay them anything, and it’s not risky like some of the daily labor places can be.

as far as time-frames go… I had a few one or two day things a couple several week things, a four-month job and a nine-month job. It was all random for me, but maybe if you know what you want you can get it.

So what im hearing is a temp service isn’t really that bad. I can stop anytime right ? and some jobs can offer me to actually work their instead of temporally ? I like what Im hearing so far. Well how would I go about finding one of these agencies ?

I looked in the phonebook, but a search of the internet for “employment agencies” and “temporary” would probably bring good results.

Some of the people I worked with had signed up at 5 or 6 employment agencies and got calls on their cell-phones all day long about different jobs that they either scheduled or turned down.

I’d do something like that now if I had a car or convenient public transport. As is I just keep wanting to do something really close to where I am.

When I was a temp I only had one assignment and it lasted for four months. It would have lasted even longer but I quit because I had a better job opportunity. The company I was assigned to kept offering me permanent positions, too, but they couldn’t pay me as much as the temp agency was paying me for the job I was doing so I never accepted.

My stepdaughter’s ex also worked for a temp agency who trained him to be a welder. He never seemed to be out of work and he made pretty decent money, plus he was able to get a permanent position as a welder later.

The phone book or on the internet would be good places to start looking for employment.

Temp jobs have great benefits, contradict to what we think, that temp jobs dont pay much, you dont have benefits and the like. But when you experiencedoing temp jobs, you are given a lot of learning opportunities, some agencies offers trainings and seminars to upgrade your skills that is necessary to the requirements of the company that will hire you as a temp. many temp job agencies also gives benefits such as medical and dental benefits, as well as life insurance.

Its just, we must consider a lot of factors when applying to a temp job agency that will help us find a temp job. We must ask some people who are already in that agency or we can ask personally the temp agency on what benefits we will get.

If you are interested to apply to a temp agency, you can try visiting Integrity Staffing Solutions at www.integritystaffing.com or visit their location at 750 South Madison Street, Suite 300, Wilmington, DE 19801
