Can heat ruin iPods?

My sister borrowed my white 1st generation ipod nano to go running in the 108 degree weather (she came back and told us not to go outside lol)for about 2 hours and it was wroking fine the whole time she was running, she said….but later that night when I tried to play it, it wasn’t responding at all to anything. not when I touch the click wheel, click the menu button continuously, or plug it in to the computer. and no, it’s most definately not in hold. I’ve toggled the hold button over and over while rying different things to get it to respond, but it’s not working. so did the heat ruin my ipod? will it ever work again?

Hold down the Select button (center of the wheel) and Menu button (top of the wheel) until the screen goes black. This will reset the iPod and hopefully bring it back to life.

yeah the battery was just dead. my computer was freaking out but I didn’t know it yet, so when I plugged my iPod in, the computer couldn’t recognize it. the battery was plenty full when I first plugged it in, but I think that the ipod was constantly trying to be recognized by the computer, so the battery was drained.
when I found out my computer was messed up, I went and plugged it in to my other computer, and it works jsut fine, now.

to Da-11:
yeah I tried that before I came here and asked for help cause similar things have happened before, but this was the first time that the ipod didn’t respond to ANYTHING I did. but it’s all good now, thanks for trying!

Well today I was outside jogging with my iPod touch, and it was hot. The screen kept messing up and eventually it wouldn’t turn on. however, when I went inside, it was fine. I think heat could very well fry the iPod’s system.
