Good News from Jen & Blake

For those who dont know the story:
We meet online (help.com in fact) decided to meet in real life to see if we could ‘work’ as a couple and also for a bit of a holiday (to see the USA hehe XD) we did plan on me going home and coming back some time again but when it came to me going home we couldnt part. He proposed to me and we got married - kinda a mad moment XD why wait if everything was so right?! we got married in Vegas and it was awesome. Soon after the wedding we applied for me to become a perma resident which was very slow and was taking its sweet time. Well we finally got some good news after almost a year of praying and hoping. Lemme tell it as it happened:

I woke up yesterday all sad and down in the dumps. Seeing Blake trudge off to work again while I sit on my butt and watch the day go by. Another day of watching help.com or playing WoW (yippee - not) I was bored and lonely (depressed to tears actually) and needed some thing to cheer me up. Blake persuaded me to track the paperwork online = the ‘application to work’ stuff. Good news!!! the US gov has approved of letting me work. So Im gonna have to start looking for a job. No more sitting on my butt - yippee!!! (just got the card today) Any ways - Blake picked up the post that day and gave it to me as we usually do - and there was another piece of good news in there ^_^ a letter from the US gov about my ‘perma resident application’ = they have set a date for the interview. 1 more step towards being a perma resident. To be able to live with Blake as a normal couple do - roof over our heads, food in the fridge and love in our hearts ^_^

2 bits of good news in 1 day - and when I was feeling all lonely and upset too lol.

So now its all systems go!!! hehehe find a job - and sort out all of the paperwork for the interview which is in July. Gonna take a while to sort it all out which is why we have a month ^_^ all we need to do is prove that we love each other and that Im not here for the wrong reasons. Shouldnt be too difficult lol esp with all our goofy pics and emails and the skype logs of 8 hour long phone calls to each other lol

eeeee hehehehe ^_^ yes it is wonderful. Gonna start job search today. Americans dont have job centers so it could be interesting in the hunt. Probably just a lot of red pen and newspapers - Blake is already looking for me also around his work place and asking friends. He is such a sweet heart.

and Courty yes it has taken ages. Multiple forms, lot of money, lots of appointments and a lot of sitting and waiting. It is some thing I dont suggest you do unless you have a solicitors XD Blake and I did it the hard way and it is hard. We now wish we did hire some body. We would not have made some of the silly mistakes we have made. You can get the forms online - but be careful coz you might miss 1. The instructions arent very clear.

I personally do not like agency’s coz they take a huge amount out of your pay check. However if needs be I will use the company Blake went with. They only put some body in a temp to perma situation. They dont just send you out to lots of temp situations ^_^

There is a new block of office buildings that have just opened up near Blake’s work. As soon as I can (sorted out resume and suit) Im going to walk around there and deliver resumes and offer me for employment. Ive never done this before but right now is the perfect chance coz of the new companies ^_^

The state employment office is not an agency that takes pay… It is a government office designed to reduce the unemployment % for the state or city! They help you find a job for free! It is funded by state taxes and businesses pay to list there job openings there.

hahaha - form is now filled out just need to go to the office :S then I need to open up an American bank account (I cant see them paying into my Brits bank account - too much hassle) YAY things are still happening.
Need to talk to a college or some thing about my British qualifications and exactly what they mean in America - American equivalent for GCSE’s and stuff.
Trying to sort out paperwork for the interview also - I finally have it all in order ^_^ need to find a way to print of the skype records and find the letters we sent each other

moving along ^_^ applied for my social number (should be arriving in the next 1-2 weeks) and I finally opened a new American bank account WOOT now all I need to do is call a college about my qualifications, sort out a resume and find a suit lol then its job hunting all the way for me
