initially, i was a strong huckabee supporter. now i’ve done a 180 and i’m going with obama. i am very conservative but i’m unhappy with the republican nominee. i just don’t believe in mccain as a leader. as cheesy as it sounds, i truly feel inspired by obama. i am ready for change, i don’t like how things are run and i think our country needs obama. i also like the huge step forward we are taking by having a half-black candidate from a middle-class background. mccain is just the same WASP male from an cushy background. now, i’m a white female from an affluent background– i’m not a minority or poor– but i’d like to see someone who represents more than just the upper level of america.

Haha, alright. :)

Exactly! I totally agree with you on that one, bigeasycan.
Even though I’m not the age to vote … I still believe we need some CHANGE happening in the presidental campaign. I’d love to see Obama win. I’m not too strong on Hilary, though. But I like what Obama’s packing and the things he’s standing for. I respect that.

I just hope he pulls us out of the hole Bush’s put the economy in.

I was for McCain and voted for him in the primary. I usually prefer a moderate, and he has a record of pissing both the left and the right, which suits me fine. But the neo-cons have screwed up things badly, and enlarged government while alienating the world with a preemptive war and a restricting of the personal freedoms we’re supposed to represent.

I have always thought that Obama and McCain were the most “real” of the candidates in the race. Huckabee had that “real” quality too, but he was too far to the right for me.

I’ve now decided to vote for Obama for the following reasons. 1. McCain’s foreign policy is aimed at keeping the US involved around the world with troops in many countries. We have to lead by an example of freedom and human rights, not by military might. 2. McCain supports the implementation of the RFID chip in products, whereas both Obama and Clinton are against it. 3. Obama is the first leader in a long time to bring a real sense of hope, and hope is what America and the rest of the world need more than anything.

ehh…i think the problem with the economy really has to do with the people as much as the government. business needs to change, spending habits need to change, americans need to change. we really need to clean up our act and start taking responsibility for our actions. i have a lot of respect for both mccain and clinton, but ultimately, i think obama would be the best president.
and sansceriph’s #3 totally explains my feelings.
i feel like obama as president would be a whole movement. a movement of hope, change and inspiration. we all need that. it really excites me to be a member of that movement. for that reason, i’ve gone as far as made phone calls for obama in various states. lol as lame as it sounds, i want to tell my grandkids about the obama movement.

but they say anything in the runnings
their all saying this so they can be president doesn’t mean they’ll actually do anything they say when they become president.

Last night I watched a documentary about FDR. People felt the same way about him as they now do about Obama, and still he had a lot of political battles to wage. Of course politicians say what they think people want to hear. But in rare instances a politician is also a good person. If my Hillary found my wallet, I think she’d take all my cash, drain my credit cards AND put me on her mailing list.

I’m an Obama fan. I went to a rally of his, and agreed with a good 90% of what he had to say.

Whether anything will actually change is anyone’s guess, but we can hope right?

I was a huge Hillary Clinton fan. When she decided to run, I was freakishly happy. Then she started campaigning. Basically, I love her policies, hate her campaign method.

Obama is amazing at campaigning. I just heard the speech he gave today in Des Moines and I think it was his best yet. My problem with Obama is that he always talks about how he’s going to bring about change yet never mentions any specific policy. At least Hillary’s got plans.

McCain was cool a couple of years ago but I think he’s cracked.

Basically, I hate all politicians. But I’ll just vote for whoever wins the Democratic ballot b/c McCain’s like another Bush to me.

Hopefully, it’s Hillary! Even if her campaigning isn’t so good. I pray Bill would just be quiet for once.

Wow, it’s nice looking at your guy’s opinions.
And i’m glad to actually hear that you guys aren’t
voting for Clinton based on her gender and Obama
based on his race.

If any of you actually pay attention to the … talkshows
on the radio. That’s all they ever talk about.

This world can be biased, but I’m sureasheck not picking my next leader based on what color he is or whether she’s a she or whatnot.

Anybody who does that is ignorant.

Initially I was going to vote for Hillary…yeah Hillary. Don’t give any grief I believe that considering the state that our Nation is in Hillary was our best option. Why? 1.Becuase she has solid answers as to what she intended to do. 2. Because she has a solid background with Bill. 3. Because Clinton economics work 4. Because our country desperatly needs stability. 5. She may not be the “Best” answer but she is a “Sure” answer. Stability…no guessing what she stands for or is about!!! 6. Would you really vote for McCain?? Have you seen the videos of Obamma’s church? Do you really believe that after being a member of this church and referencing his minister as being like his “Uncle” that this is the “First” time that he has heard any anti-white, anti-American brain wash like this?

I love how people think that Hilary is still an option. It really shows how much you pay attention to events in your own country when you talk like Hilary was a option. She has not been an option for at least three months. In my life there are many people I love and adore who I don’t agree with on significant moral issues. I am sure his pastor is actually a great guy with some beliefs that are just a little radical, but that does not mean he and Obama agree on everything. Give me a break. There are way to many racist people in this country who are looking for silly reasons not to vote for Obama, beacuse they don’t want to admit they rather vote for the old white guy, because he is WHITE.
