Appreciate the Small Things
Here is something I read a while back and thought that it would be nice to share with everyone (I hope it hasn’t already been posted - if it has; I’m sorry)
One day… a wealthy man took his son on a trip to the countryside so he could show his son how poor country people live.
They stayed one day and one night in the home of a very humble farmer and at the end of the trip when they were back home, the father asked his son, “What did you think of the trip?”
The son replied, “Very nice, Dad”
Then the father asked his son, “Did you notice how poor they were?” The son replied “Yes”
The father continued to say, “What did you learn?”
The son responded “I learned that we have one dog in our house and they have four. We have a fountain in our garden and they have a stream. We have imported lamps in our garden when they have stars. Finally, our garden goes to the edge of our property, while they have the horizon as their backyard.”
The father remained speachless while the son said “Thank you Dad, for showing me how poor we really are”.
We all have our problems and for a lot of us, these problems are really serious and VERY difficult to handle. However, if we are ever feeling down we just need to stand back and look at the really good things in life. It is these good things that give us the power to keep fighting against the serious problems that we have.
I hope you liked this post and that you all have a nice day :)
