i recently downloaded a program, it worked, but then

i started up another program and i got this strange pattern all over my screen: http://img392.imageshack.us/my.php?im...

ive found that if i switch my colour mode to 16 bit it kinda gets rid of it, but i dont want to have to lose colour quality. i did a scan on AVG and found a virus, trojan downloader banload.umd. AVG got rid of it, but i still have the colour thing. any ideas? much appreciated.
