friends help: My friend told me that she heard she was going to get beat up. - Help.com

My friend told me that she heard she was going to get beat up.

this is at the end of the school year and i dont know what to do, she wont go to her mom about it either. I made the mistake of telling my mom about it and she called some big national help thingy about it. and i feel if something happens with this that my friend will hate me, and idk if i should tell her or not. and if sumthing happens and the ‘clique’ wanting to beat her up finds out that, they can come to her house-considering they know where she lives- and beat her up there.. And i feel so horrible and i dont know what to do! plz help me!

Call the cops! Don’t wait or you may have a tragedy in your hands! Tell the cops who these people are and if anything happens and I mean anything happens to your friend, they will know who to look for. The cops will also warn these people to leave your friend alone or they can be arrested for assault and battery. Don’t wait!

Just tell the police the situation and they will take it from there.

Have thought of just going to the police station? Or stopping a cop on the street to tell him. The police are bound by law to take a report.

You’re doing the right thing, despite your doubts. Don’t feel guilty or bad, as a real friend, you’re protecting her from any threat - real or percieved. You just have to wait for her to thank you when it turns out she was really in danger. Otherwise, you’re a cautious friend who doesn’t take any chances with the well being of their friends.
