friends help: I am 15 years old. - Help.com

This post left anonymously

I am 15 years old.

I have a legal guardian but my life is hell here. I cant make my own decisions and i feel as though im living the life my guardian wants, not the life i want. I cant get emancipated for another 7 months and i dont know if i can wait that long. My close friends mom is willing to take me in and become my legal guardian but i dont know how i can do that. Cant my legal guardian stop that from happening? And if so what am i supposed to do? I need out!

go to the nearest court house, tell them your problem, then ask them if you can do this. if they say yes or no, doesnt matter, bring both adults to the court, and see what happens.

Interesting … many 15 year old girls feel the way you feel whether they are with their parents or a legal guardian.

Fact is … the court has designated this person your legal guardian for some reason. The court deemed this person capable of taking care of you until you are 18.

7 months … if you are not being neglected or abused … and you wish to be emancipated in seven months … I suggest you spend the next 7 months building your case for emancipation and figure out how you are going to take care of yourself once you are emancipated.

since she is your legal gaudian nobody can take you away from her.You are still under 18 you can not seek redress in court. My advise is that try to manage that place you are staying presently, hide your atitude and continue pretending till you can under the law allowed to go to court to seek or redress,i mean well you are 18 years of age.
