I try to be as honest as possible, but I often lie if it is for a good cause. Sometimes lying is good, but most of the time lying only hurts. Anyone who answers yes to your post is a pathological liar.

To be a nice person, you have to blur the lines and lie a bit. Being too honest can be more harmful than telling someone a white lie. I fully endorse the use of white lies.

Nope. In fact, I honestly don’t believe Abe Lincoln was 100% truthful either. Without any sort of lie, we are not human. We’re not perfect, and lying is one of the inevitable flaw. No matter what we do. And I’m not talking white lies here.

Everyone has at least told a lie to save themselves from getting into trouble, or to create false belief with bad intentions. EVERYONE. It just all depends on whether we learn from the mistakes and deal with the consequences of our actions.

I’ve been called pathologically honest by people close to me, and I don’t handle fiction very well, and I’m into Truth with a huge capital T, so… I don’t think that necessarily means I’m any closer to the truth than anyone else, but it does mean it takes a bit more effort for me to consciously work with sarcasm, irony, and other common communication styles whose literal meaning is false.

nah I’m just confused and can’t usually get away with as much purposeful self-deception as some others can.
