I’m thinking of changing my hairstyle for the first time in about 9 years.

I also have’nt had a fringe since then either. I’m not sure how to show a picture of what I’m like now, but I have long black hair and look a bit like Amy Lee (Evanescence).

I was thinking I’d get a side fringe, but everyone has one right now and I don’t want to be like everyone else. Also, I want a comfortable hairstyle that isn’t always in the way but can be used to cover the eyes if necessary.

Any ideas?

I dunno. I would suggest you tell the person cutting your hair what you told us. They should be able to whip something up.

I usually brush mine to the side because they get in my eyes.

i recently (past 8 mos.) went through some drastic hair changes.. a lot of people are doing the short hair thing right now..
Now my hair sort of has this thing going on…
http://www.monstersandcritics.com/peo…
http://www.jkrweb.com/newyork/celebs/…

But still different! haha.. just try to find celeb hair cuts that you like.. take it to a hair stylist and they’ll give you something similar but ask them to make sure it’s something that suits the shape of your face… which they should do anyway..

I’ve never really been to a hair salon, except once… but I cut my own hair using my own “5 second” technique… I put my hair in a high ponytail… then cut it at about 1-2″ away from the hair tie!! haha…. Then I was done! Well the second time around I shaped it up some more and parted it to the side, now it looks hot!

hehe yeah… it’s not for everyone! But it did work! When my hair was straightened it was at my waist and I cut it to about chin length now (straight). I have naturally curly hair… not so fond of it now when it’s curly, but it’s ok… but straight it looks amazing!

You could also cut it yourself to a certain point, and if it looks funky, go to a salon for a shape up… just be careful not to cut it too short… but in any case, don’t be nervous! It’s only hair!!! It will grow back eventually… plus you can always get a wig! :)

you had your hair to your wasit?! so lucky! mine’s only mid-back and it’s already reasonably straight!

lol..it’ll grow back…eventually…yayy…still..that’s a while..
anyway, theres no way i’ll look too stupid…right?

and your hair sounds pretty cool.

I’m just saying, there is no need to worry… if it goes wrong, it will eventually growout! But no, there’s no way you’ll look stupid.. hehe… just choose something modern and edgy… it’s what’s going on right now… at least out by where I am and what I see in magazines. I found this magazine at my grocery store that had over 1000 short hairstyles… maybe get something like that and bring it the salon… pick out something you like and ask the stylist to do something like it for you that will fit your face shape. Maybe a new color would be cool too!

I haven’t covered my eyes…at all…
O.O
I don’t think I could stand having really short hair…
I don’t want to take away too much of the length.
