Perhaps the most important item to pack

Yeah, I love California and look forward to the next time I visit. Since you are going in June you will want to dress for warm weather. If your finances permit, maybe just take the clothes on your back, a tooth brush, toothpaste, and a credit card plus a little cash. It could be a blast to go shopping for everything you need or want and not have to carry anything with you on the plane. I once won a “Bring only your tooth brush trip” from Washington, DC to Chicago. My friend and I registered at a bar in Washington, DC and we were called to come down to the final draw on a Saturday morning and to bring only our tooth brushes. We showed up with hundreds of others and they chose 10 winners to bring a friend. An hour later we were on a bus to the airport where they put us all on a plane to Chicago. It was sponsored by Jim Beam Bourbon and they hired a rock band to play a private performance for about 200 people that came from 10 different cities around the country. They fed us to our hearts content, gave us all the Jim Beam products we could drink, put us up at the biggest hotel in Chicago, and made it one of the best memories of my life (until I blacked out from too much Jim Beam ;~))). What part of California are you planning on visiting? If it is northern California we sometimes have fog and it can be chilly or windy in San Francisco. Its difficult to anticipate or know for certain since the weather can be a little unpredictable up here. If you are planning for northern CA bring a jersey or a light jacket just in case. :) Have fun!

Ah… then disregard what I said! Its typically warmer in the south. :)
