school help: How do you easily make such a big decision? - Help.com

How do you easily make such a big decision?

Currently I am in the professional world but wanting to go back to school for many reasons. Mainly to regain focus and to take what I have learned in the real world and apply it to starting anew. I also may have a job offer out of the country. My dilemma? Well, I am having trouble deciding what is the best move. On one hand the out of country job offers more stability, better work, but in a less than better quality overall. While school offers stability, steady work, nice environment, and a great support network but I am scared of taking the ¨step back¨. Anyone have advice on how to choose the best situation?

do both, work fulltime and study part time? if you have the time, ofcourse.
or do the most enjoyable, even if it turns out to be the wrong move, it will never be a step back, it can’t be a step back, afterall your living your life.

well, I will have work opportunities while at school but I have already been accepted to a school in the states. The full-time job is out of the country and there is nowhere to study my particular subject there. I can see both being enjoyable situations, I just can´t decide which is most enjoyable or beneficial.

you say you “may” have a job offer. If this is not definite, it’s best to go with the known for now. You have a definite school place.

Also, in later years, you may feel you are beyond going back to school. You may feel too old.. it creeps up on us! It would be tougher to do later if you decided that you had made the wrong decision. You can work any time!

I am also working fulltime and going to school part time. I think it is fulfilling because as you are learning you can apply what you are learning to your current job. In the end it will put you in a better position for a possible promotion and a new outlook on life in terms of career goals

If it is a career you are building, you make the best decision for your career. We all have to pay our dues. When your career is strong you will be able to make lots of decisions as to where you want to live, work, and most jobs will pay for further education.

find out if the job offer would be real. then, i would suggest taking the job if is it, as it could provide so many oppertunities (srry can nv spell that). you could study or maybe find even a differnt school to go to outside the country.. take the risk and go for it!
