How do you start over after losing everything?

I had to start my life over after I moved to florida from newyork. Came here with no money no car nothing. I got everything I needed and
I was doing okay untill I lost my job. (Managers did nothing to defend me when a customer threatend to hit me with a hammer) I got fired because I slammed a door. Couldn’t have been at a worse time.. A week before rent is due and yes I was living paycheck to paycheck… what do I do?

Look to God for advice but stay in the real world too. Don’t spend too much and go for lower jobs.

In regards to the above 4 replies, please heed only two of them, The one from friendlyheart and the one from caught_in hitnrun. The turn to god, but stay in the real world, explains itself. Stay in the real world, the last thing you need right now is someone to tell you I welcome you to fantasy island, I will now brainwash you and make you feel inferior, so that when you get some money, I will get part of it. As for the government, they could care less about you. I suggest that you take any job that you can find as a interim, but also take any steps that you can to better yourself for a more secure and higher paying job. Repeat this step over and over and you will make it. Good luck to you!

In life sometimes we make bad decisions that cause us a great deal. Always look over your circumstances and ask your self what could I have done differently. Set quietly and search your heart, all of your answers are in side of you. Things have a way of working it self out. Learn the lesson. While you are waiting, go to the library, there are Christian retreats. Check yourself in to on for quiet time and time alone with God to gets some answers. God Bless

Go to the local unemployment office and file for unemployment compensarion; usually, they will give you a hard time if you were fired, but if you are denied unemployment you can appeal it, and most employers will not want to stay in a legal fight over what you already paid into the system to get compensated for. Go to your local catholic church ****. Vincent De Paul charity for some financial help also. You can get a title loan against your vehicle if you own it outright. Also, the Red cross may help you with housing and/or some money. Things are tough everywhere now. Some Blood Banks may still pay for either blood or plasma donation. There are always pawn shops around for a quick few dollars; and you have time to get your pawned merchandise back when you get back on your feet. alot of places will give you some work under the table, such as sole proprietor businesses, delivery services, and local eateries. if you can hold out until you receive unemployment compensation, then it is much easier to find work knowing that at least a little money is coming in. Also, aside from what your pride may tell you, don’t be afraid to ask your friends, family members, and local church clergy for help. Local soup kitchens and shelters are overflowing, so don’t feel that you are alone in this situation. Our economy is flat on it’s back now, thanks to the Corrupt and greedy politicians, banks, and stock brokers. Try to relax, put one foot in front of the other, and keep in mind that we all live from day to day. Losing a job can be hell, but it can also be a doorway to something better in your life.
