Sounds like a virus, do a scan then check your installed programs to see if it can be manually removed.

Be careful - I had a virus that went straight under the radar of my Norton (dont have Norton now have AVG like Thep recommends) it replicated every picture on my computer 55 times over and deleting made it worse. If you use the AVG free download you should be able to quarantine it. There is another programme called ‘Unclean’ - it is brilliant for killing off programs that you think you have deleted but are actually still there Good luck - Mas

Only the latest norton is any good at finding virus. It is still not as good as other programs. You might have to, in the end re-install your windows opperating system, to remove this virus. Sometimes it is the only way to remove a virus.

To help to stop this happening in the future.
1. Re-install your windows operating system.
2. Re-connect to your internet provider.
3. Download AVG free edition.
4. Download this free program called ccleaner from this website http://www.ccleaner.com/

Every time you log off from using the internet, run ccleaner as it comes to start with. You can find out what it is all about, from there website and studying how to use it before you change any of it’s settings.
Run your AVG program as often as possible but at least once a week. AVG downloads any new files it needs all by itself.

There are new very nasty type virus now being downloaded just by visiting the wrong website. You will need all the help you can get to reduce the risk of your computer being infected.

If your PC seems like its slowing down or having a hard time surfing the web or just doesn’t seem right.
You should go to http://download.com and get these programs.
AD-Aware: http://www.download.com/3120-20_4.htm…
Spybot search and destroy: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search…
CCleaner: http://www.download.com/CCleaner/3000…
and and if you dont have an Antivirus program you can use
Avast: http://www.download.com/Avast-Home-Ed…
or AVG: http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Viru…
and for your firewall a good program is
Zone Alarm: http://www.download.com/ZoneAlarm-Fir…
Install these programs and run them regulary. This will keep your system clean and running properly. These programs are free and Download.com is a part of CNET (the site that your posting on right now). Hope this helps :-)
