Help with a modem card for a PC.

I have a card (like a video card) that’s really a modem that I’m having trouble with.

1)I’m not getting a dial tone…

2)I have no manual; the modem came with the computer.

3)There are two holes on the back that do not have symbols telling what they do, so I don’t know which to use.

What I do know is:

1)It is sorta working because the computer is getting and sending commands to/from the modem…

2)The cord in fine, and so is the plug in the wall.

3)The card is definetly completly plugged in.

So, what should I do?

Have you tried both jacks on the back of the card? I’ve seen modems get power surges from the phone line where the computer can still communicate with the modem but the modem doesn’t detect a signal on the line.

are the right drivers installed for the modem

right click my computer and hit propertied then down some is devise manager then in there is modem

1 if there is any yellow exclamation marks then that is something wrong
but look for the modem and then open it with the little + sign then right on what became visable and then click properties and in there it will tell you if it is working correctly
