The house I live in is a complete mess and my friend is coming round today and I feel embarrassed.
The last friend who came round complained the house was untidy and im worried this friend will comment too.

not much really its so bad. its also filled with clutter which is my mums. an hours work would hardly make any difference :(
our house is a tip.
I am sure it will be ok. Just explain to her that your family has been busy and the clutter belongs to your mom. She probably won’t care.
i dunno. depends on her really.
the last person who came round was pretty much a perfectionist and complained.
my house is a tip too, if that makes you feel better :)
lol
If you are talking about clutter, I wouldn’t worry too much.
No matter your age, or socio-economic status, your bathroom and kitchen should always be tidy and recently cleaned. that has nothing to do with guests, it’s just healthier for your state of mind!
If there is just random clutter, then whaddya gonna do? We all have it at some point or another, and friends will deal!
lol, don’t worry about it, but now that you mentioned it i think i’ll do a bit of tidying up
Put everything in the coat closet and don’t open the door! What’s a tip?
well, i guess some of u have tidy houses!
my mum has filled the garage, 3 lofts, 4 cubboards, 6 bookshelves, and the rest of the house with junk. the house is not always that clean.
thing is, generally bothered if someone comes round :(
My kids just left to be with their mom for the week and my house is trashed too. And I just had a neighbor come over and share a bottle of wine. Do what you can to tidy up. You’re not responsible for the clutter, and you don’t need a perfectionist pointing it out either. Hopefully this friend coming to visit won’t be so harsh as the other one.
Bummer….Maybe you can let her know it’s cluttered before she arrives to your house. What is a tip? lol Is that like an apartment? Probably not alot of room to put things, huh? Well, try to make sure the bathroom is clean for sure. A place to sit and a place to lay down,,,all is good. Don’t worry too much. Cheer up sweetie and try to have a good visit. :)
Best Wishes
spirited, it’s your home too. Normally I am adament that kids living at home have to abide by their parent’s rules, but I never agree with that when the rules are absurd.
Maybe you and your mom can spend a weekend or two carving out a path from the door to the living room to your room, so that you can have friends over without feeling the need to explain.
Your friends will still love you for you, but that doesn’t mean your mom can’t try to meet you halfway!
im not sure if the person coming round will really accept me for me.
its a mystery, i don;t know yet
OMG I just been tidyin my room and found the camera my dad bought me just before he died! haven’t seen it in months!
LOL………See tidying up isn’t so bad. LOL Congratulation you found the camera. Sorry to hear your dad has passed away. God Bless and Best Wishes
well, fair enough, a person may not accept you for you, but a friend will.
Here’s to hoping this person becomes a friend.
It’s probably fair to give warning about the Clutternalia he or she is about to stumble upon!
but the good news is, perhaps you will learn a few organization techniques you may not have otherwised cared about!
Let your mum be cluttered, but you can establish your own acceptable level of tidy!
I did warn her about the mess. so i did with the other one.
tidying up sure does have its advantages lol
what techniques wud i learn?
if i complain to my mum about the clutter, nothing gets acheived, she shouts and moans back.
get of your lazy *** and tidy it.
it wont do you no harm.
good to get out of bed in the morning.

lol loads of people my age do.
in ways i want to live on my own, but i find it harder to be independant than most others. id move out if i was confident enough too.
look, you need to move on it seems to me that your parents are draggin you down you need to get out and do your own thing.
when was your last boyfriend/girlfriend ?
my dad passed away 2006.
my last proper relationship was in 2006.
for some reason a lot of people don;t agree with me saying this but they don’t have itso wo cares. i have aspergers syndrome so find it hard to cope on my own but i should become more independant in the end.

If anybody complains, enlist him or her into the cleaning brigade! ;-)
I have several signs in my hall…
“It’s not clutter.. it’s creativity in progress”.
“only dull women have immaculate houses”.
“Sorry, I was too busy reading up on Existentialist Philosophy to clear up”.
“Make yourself at home.. clean my house”.
“I strive for perfection. I may not get there in some things… but I strive!”
“A life filled with organised drawers and neat cupboards is a life without daily surprises”.
and my favourite:
“Life is too short to iron knickers”
Sure, clean when you can and keep your kitchen and bathroom hygienic… but don’t let the rest stress you too much!
Mabey you should get off your *** and clean it? Hey there’s an idea!
