what is your bandwitdth speed? try a site like speedtest.net
this site won’t load up
Just do a search for speed or bandwitdh test, another one is http://www.bandwidthplace.com/
if it seems like your bandwidth is good, try getting the newest version of flash and check your video drivers.
If your PC seems like its slowing down or having a hard time surfing the web or just doesn’t seem right.
You should go to http://download.com and get these programs.
Spybot search and destroy: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search…
and and if you dont have an Antivirus program you can use
or AVG: http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Viru…
and for your firewall a good program is
Zone Alarm: http://www.download.com/ZoneAlarm-Fir…
Install these programs and run them regulary. This will keep your system clean and running properly. These programs are free and Download.com is a part of CNET (the site that your posting on right now). Hope this helps :-)
585.27kilobits per second
71.44kilobytes per second
That is slow but I dont know if it’s slow enough to make a them slow. Are you trying flash based websites such as youtube? Or are you trying to play them off your harddrive?
If your playing them off your computer download a program called VLC its an open source player that will play just about anything you want it to. Just do a google search for it.
I would say it might be your download speed then, I average about 3000kb/s and it sometimes runs slow for me.
does any one have a solution or is it becasue I have xp and my parents computer is vista?
ok now I was thinking that I have broadcom 802.11g network adapter is it time for an upgrade
Its not because of the two different versions of your OS. It could be your NIC card is out of date but it could be that your connections is slow.
My speed-test results are
5464 kb\ps Down
523 kb\ps up
Maybe try upgrading your DSL speed. Hope this helps :-)
ok well now I have a wired connection DSL but the videos are still slow only the anime, you tube is fine and when I try to watch movies on tudo.com there not slow but sometimes it moves slowly but then speeds up to normal. why is it that my laptop just can’t play videos normal
This happens with my laptop as well. I generally blame it to overheating, but it does it as well when it’s cooled down. It’s DEFINITELY not your connection speed, as 500kbps is sufficient. Not great, but enough.
It’s something to do with your computer. How you take this advice is up to you.
Wireless…..To think of it, when I was using a direct feed through the ethernet port, it ran fine.
Mine does exactly the same thing, I also have vista. Have you found a solution?
mine does the same
same with my computer
If anyone is interested, I had the same problem with any videos and in desperation phoned aol tech assistance. As usual a guy from Bombay informed me that as I was broadband and wireless router I might need a new filter. He told me to check that my first filter was on the phone master socket and that the line from the router should join at that filter. I checked and found that my set up was all wrong, so I put it right and immediately found a video to play, but it was still jerky, and stopping and starting so I switched off for the night. This morning when I tried again everything was correct and my videos ran perfectly. As an after thought I realised that last night I had not rebooted, so when I started this morning it did the trick. I may be entirely wrong but it the only time my videos have run correctly for three months
I have the same problem, the movie isnt playing at the normal speed. It runs at like 0.8 of the normal speed, this only works when i watch a movie out of my
If i watch anything off youtube, or off my harddrive; it runs fine. Anyone have a solution to this?
Thanks in advance
i have problem with playing youtube videos. 320p and 480p play fine but when i try to play HD videos the videos play and freeze then continue again. the sound is right but screen is wrong. does anyone know what it is? what can i do to fix it?
my broadband speed is 100 mbps but its slow win xp from this month
video choppyness has nothing to do with internet connection.
internet connection case is when your video fails to buffer properly, and a moving circle re-appears from time to time.
no it has nothing to do with the internet, all videos are slow on my pc and i get 20mbps, youtube videos and files off hard disk
generally depending on how old the pc is it could just be a limitation on the chipset or gpu lots of older machines cannot run the new flash standard even some with ati mobility 6 lol its just a limitation they dont have the proper hardware decoders and that cant be fixed unless your pc has a agp pci or pci e slot then add a cheapo video card
