I would ask yourself - is truth validated by how I feel? Can I say, “man, I feel empty so i should question the truth?” Or “when I finally find the truth, I will know it becasue I will feel this way or that.”. ??? can we say that? I would say that we cannot. I do not think (my personal opinion) that truth can be validated by how we feel.
Often times, people seek relgion for a feeling of “wholeness” or “contintment”. We come in pain and seek to be comforted in our beliefs. Find “rest” emotionally and spiritually. We say “believe in such and such and you will be whole and alive.” There are “feelings” associated with religion… but should we use those feelings to validate a truth? Or just how we feel?
Lets just say you believe the bible. There are hundreds of religious texts out there.. but lets for times sake say you belive the bible is the truth. How do you know it is true? By how you act or how you feel? No.. surely not. By how others act or feel? No.. surely not. Now - what you need to do is be sure of the truth you believe REGARDLESS of what you do or dont do. Truth is still truth. What does your relegious teachings say about Salvation since that is what you are questioning.?? Does is say… “If you feel empty you are not of Christ?” No. Salvation isnt about feelings - its about truth. And the truth is, the bible says if a person would put their faith in the message within the pages of the bible - the message of salvation through Christ - they will be born again by the spirit into a new life. The “old man” verses the “new man”. Old man being bound by his own self to make choices within his own abilities and will. The new man being now free to yield himself to another - the spirit of God - and so able to make new choices of freedom tward righteousness. So it teaches.
Do you believe this? If you do - act on it. If not - find another religion to adhear to if you want. But dont walk around professing anything unless you are sure of what you profess. Otherwise - you will be a mindless professor of a teaching and faith which you really know nothing about and have no real intention of living.
