OMG! I totaly screwed up! aaahh! i borrowed my dads truck and when i went to back out i backed into another one of our cars. The car i hit is old and doesn’t run right now tho. OMG my dad is sooo pissed. I was so STUPID to have done this. it was such an accident, and i am sooo sorry but he doesn’t even want to talk to me. the truck is not too too screwed up; the right tail light is smashed. How can i make this better? anyone have suggestions?

Pay for the damages, then let him have space to get over his mad, and to realize that everyone makes mistakes.

Keep it in perspective. A couple of years ago, someone I knew ran over a co-worker’s BABY with a car. Miraculously the kid lived.

omgosh that is so said.

… anyways just let him have time to blow off steam.
prove to him that he can trust you and pay for it like you said you were.
do everything that he tells you to do and never talk back just simple stuff like that he’ll see that you learned from your mistake

Just a broken tail light is extremely easy and affordable to fix, he shouldn’t even be mad. I once backed into a parked boat in my yard and broke the whole back glass of my car out. Anyhow, just don’t talk to him for a while to let him cool down and fix it in the meantime.

ok, i just went and told him sorry again and he didn’t want to acknowledge me. i know he’ll be mad for a while- but i feel better after apologizing again. facing him is the hardest part. i know i’ll have to avoid him for a while too, else i make things worse.

We all mess up in life and people get angry. It’ll take time and if there is anything you can do for him to repay him or do other things for him, errands, etc., after he cools down you might want to ffer that.

Accidents happen.

Though keep in mind you:

1)took the truck without permission (or did you ask?)

2)Hit something

Men love their cars…Pay for the damages and silently sit in the back seat for awhile/ take the bus.

If you’re Dad is anything like mine a week and a perfect puppy dog pout will fix everything.

Goodluck! :)
