i think you should make it funny , and write about cavemen and what they wore (they where the first ppl to wear clothes right ? then go on about how the climate changed and how their clothes changed too . then about different places in the world poor people and rich people ,when things got a bit mixed up and you couldnt tell 1 from the other .

ohhh thers this great history movie i watched that had fashion in it.

For a good speech narrow it down and make an argument. Say something like the government influences fashion and find data that backs it up. Or pick a segment of fashion. For example casual wear influences are dramatically different than formal wear.

If you just want a list of things that influence fashion here you go: Music, Art, Climate, Movies, TV, What people do in their free time, Architecture, graphic design, sports, technology, economy, politics, school, religion, social status, celebrities, occupactions…
