i am rebuilding a mercruiser 2 bbl carb.

basically
a rochester with 1 mixture screw.
i have learned a little bit in a mercruiser book.
im at adjusting the float. the diagram is not to clear and
states measure from the gasket to the toe of the float
(float up 10 millimeters) float hanging 28 millimeters.
i kinda got that down except the float tapers down on the top and bottom near the end and there is kind of a flat
edge on the end like this \ with a flat edge connecting
the 2 /
not sure exactly where to measure at float please help thanks chris
kinda difficult to explain

Hi, I just did this procedure on the same kind of carb. Look on the side of the float toward the tapered end for a little raised dot. That’s what I used to measure it (saw it in some book) and it worked well.
