work help: I’m in a dire situation, my fiancee is unemployed, I’m in credit card debt, and there is no way to get ahead. - Help.com

I’m in a dire situation, my fiancee is unemployed, I’m in credit card debt, and there is no way to get ahead.

Now I am behind on my work credit card which will both affect my credit as well as my company’s. There is no way that I can pay this off right now and I’m afraid I may lose my job because of it. I don’t know what to do.

You need to set a budget and stick to it. That means no eating out, movie theaters, bars, shopping only for necessities and etc, until your credit card debt is paid down. As for getting work go to your local command labor and get some temp work. It might lead to full time employment. Hope this helps :-)

The only things that I spend any money on right now are gas and food, and I don’t know how I can cut off any more spending besides that.

Cut all of the cards in half. No temptation no debt. You have been spending money that you don’t have and sounds like you’ve spent the companies money too. Sell some of the things that you purchased with the credit cards. You relay don’t get too many options now, you messed up and now you have to fix it. Hope this helps :-)

well, the one thing that I can say is that the company credit card is one that I am responsible for paying, it has their name on it but it is not one that they pay for. I didn’t spend their money

If you have a good job , you can ask for a loan at your credit union or Prosper. People may help you. More information at http://www.acreditlibrary.com/prosper… and http://luccu.org
