I hope so too. It only takes nothing just a joint effort from many of us for the many of others. It can be a hit magazine if we work on it or as I dreamed it.

First circulation will be in the US since I am here. Then UK & Australia will be my second goals. It won’t be hard once the base work is done, it will just put in channels to sell them there. We have good members from Europe and Australia too. I hope they don’t mind doing this helpful business.
Dazmo, yes I am flying the idea to my friends now. My husband suggested the E-zine too but yet undecided. It is all about the contribution to the idea and funding. We will see how it goes

Wow wee..finally…Dream girl does the dream.. Great idea! Brain storm your ideas and we’ll all help. My post has lots of things you can compile. Maybe take a piece of paper and write them all down and plan an attack, with the first step as well. I’ve been watching, but my work demands a lot of me. So I can only be a contributor in watching or suggesting. I’ll do all that I can:) I’m sooooo excited and I want a Tee shirt too. lol

The cool thing is, once the magazine or the E-zine whatever worked out the traffic for this site will kick up because if anyone want to write a post for the magazine they have to past their problem or anything at help.com then the members will vote for them.

DAzmo, I am not starting it without asking them. This post is to know if people get excited about it and if they beleive it will work and if many of them agree it is a great idea trust me I will do a step by step process. If the help.com mangers are not willing to be a part of it, I am sure they don’t own the public post. Whoever wants to be on the magazine will send his/her post to the magazine site and after rating it will be featured. But I am really wanting to work with them other than just alone. Because this site is my inspiration.

It may be an electronic magazine or a video…there is a vast pool of knowledge on with help members..you could even send us prints, posters or other things….lol..I can feel the energy building up..you are going to be a busy girl:) We need hats too..Maybe a central station that warehouse some stuff and when we wear it, it solicits new members and people can donate for the cost of printing or memorabilia. Just brain storming..

Yep. The target is to benefit those who are need help from the profit, to make myself busy and ( and many other participants to work on it and also get paid. Guess how many people out there don’t know about help.com and don’t come to the site and see the other side of their own life. How many will learn, how many will be inspired, how many will step up to help themselves and others…. it is all good. I feel good.
You know what I think also, if I was one of those multi-millionaire people, I would open a restaurant chain in many places and the members at help.com who needed jobs only work their and benefit. The criteria to be hired will be only be a member of this community and have a strong story behind you something like that to ease life for them. Dang, I am not a multi-millionaire hehehe
Your going to have to change the name or pay help.com for the copy rights to use the name. Why would anyone want to pay for this magizne anyway when it is free to post on the site. This is just a web site like the thousands of others out there and should not controll the majority of your life. Hope this helps :-)

Good Clue..pardon the pun..lol. To make a simple template and monitor your energy would be a good idea. We here experience extreme highs and lows, so protection or awareness is important. Some of the most successful ideas came from simple ideas. It’s better to work smart then hard. Dialogue and awareness to the site and issues are good.
I have already checked some sources. I am not going to call it Help Magazine or Help.com magazine but the name will have something in connection with Help. There was a magazine called help magazine from 1960-65 and also the website helpmagazine.com is not available so I am working on the name but it will reflect the help.com members. There will be no copy right problems for this idea as many of you think.
There is a problem you do have to have permition to use posts from this site. The TOS states:

It sounds like a great idea in principle. But I’m not sure that people who post on here needing genuine help will want the publicity that this may generate … there’s a chance that if they think their post is going to become part of a contest, they may not post at all. Then there are those who will simply invent a fantastic fake post to GET the publicity! You’d also be entering a minefield of permissions and copyrights - you’d have to write in a clause that your profile info, responses and posts may be published elsewhere and I’m not convinced people would necessarily go for that. What would be great though would be something to pull together some of the best sources of help out there that members can use.

Thanks Mas. I am flying the idea not to make billions of dollars but as of the social event happen this is one way of doing something to get together. It can be a one time publication, it might be a periodical publication every 6 or 12 months. There is no bad side of negative effect to bring to this site.

Thank you BD. Yes you are so right. I put all that into consideration, I am asking a solution for that who can be able to participate, contribute a post, find cost effective solutions (sponsoring the print out) Etc.

LoL, I think I need someone to edit this post for me. Everybody is thinking about copyright, etc and we are not going to use help.com logo we are not using any help.com copyrighted posts or comments without permission. There will be nothing to be out without the help of help.com owners and members participation. I do think it is beneficial than stupid.

the words do-gooders comes to mind for some reason, dont blame me, i am just passing the message around… leave help.com alone and if we wanna meet each other we are perfectly capable of arranging to meet up with anyone we please, apart from that, everyones all over the world so how many meets in how many countries do you wanna organise exactly? i mean i would never go to one because i like my anonymity thanks!

Understand that too. The inspiration for this post is a holiday for help.com members and the help.com road trip posts. This is just an idea. Well you still come while keeping your anonymity. It is all positive force, no obligation to do anything that you don’t want. NO FINE print on the event.

I like the idea of a particular post or reply being rewarded with a get together. This is not exactly in line with your idea which I think is a good idea but another slant on it would be to have an expression of the month, post or reply and have all the winners be rewarded with a yearly get together, that maybe they could pay for themselves or maybe the site could contribute. Anyway, just an alternate idea but I love your idea too.

Don’t give up, just be flexible enough to make your dream happen. Tweak it. All contributions would have to be sent to you independent of the site, although the same subject matter could be used. I do think it should not reference the site at all, to avoid the pitfalls that Mas and BD were talking about.
I know it’s just self-demeaning humor, and sometimes that’s perfect, but don’t say you have a tiny mind. Only big minds dream; only great minds work hard to make their dreams a reality.
Although I mostly write fiction, I’ve had in mind a non-fiction book for a long time that could be written by contributors here. Again, with material submitted independent of the site. But the contributors could use their same user names as pen names.
I think it’s a really good idea, but personally I wouldnt buy it
I don’t think I would becuase I can just bum around help.com and choose some good ones of my own.
I’m not saying your idea is bad, I’m just putting in my input.

Tweaking something is to take the issues and formulating a plan to get the same result. Your goal is to provide expose to the people whom need it with out the interference of the undesirables. There’s your challenge. Thep has a good plan too. What say you? Maybe personalised controlled mailing? I don’t know, I’m just throwing stuff out there.

also… if you think about it as well.. you could probably make it available on adobe so that those who dont receive the magazine right away, they can download it and be able to read it that way… just a thought.
