Like if you’re on a blind date with someone who’s really not attractive, you can slide them down your nose and look over the top (or just take them off) and suddenly you can’t tell that the other person has spinach in their teeth! You can also hold them in you hand while you gesture at things, like a pointer but much classier.

They’re also way useful for identifying other nerds.
