Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
I would take him to a vet if you are thinking about keeping him as a pet. I would also put vaseline on any other parts of him that could get stuck while he is struggling to escape, this may also get under the pads of his feet and help tp free him.
Next time use a humane trap. Those mouse trap sticky pads are horrible. Poison is better than that, at least they don’t suffer.
As far as removing the mouse, the vet may be able to do it depending on how much of his body is stuck. But chances are, he’ll have to kill it b/c removal of the mouse may include removal of large areas of his skin, which is obviously not good. If you try and remove it yourself, you are most likely just going to cause the mouse to lose his skin from ripping him from the pad and just causing him more pain and suffering. And you may be bitten a few times by the mouse, (but I wouldn’t blame him). Either kill the mouse and put him out of his misery, or take him to the vet and see if he can do some good with it.
I had this problem with a mouse in my closet, I got a sticky pad and caught him real easy. After I caught him I got some warm water in the bathroom sink and then i put some dawn dish washing liquid on the pad where the mouse was stuck and a little in the warm water in my sink, I just put enough water in the sink to come up to where the mouse’s feet were and let him sit in the warm water with the dawn for about 3 minutes. He came lose from the trap without any pulling are anything. I got him and put him in a paper cup and took him out in the country and set him free. I worked great without causing any pain to the mouse and he was happy and so was I :)
Just pour some cooking oil on the pad watching not to drown him. He’s free in minutes.
take pad with mouse on it
place in garbage
Take pad with mouse on it. Dunk in toilet for about 30 seconds or until mouse stops moving (some mice take short other take longer, don’t ask me why) Then throw out the window if you live in an apartment. If you live in a private home just throw in the neighbor’s yard.
Take sticky pad outside and place on floor. Find a thick piece of carton and put on top of mouse. Then step on top really hard and put the mouse out of his misery. He won’t even know what hit him. Leave the mouse and carton there as there will a little mess.
Pulling it off with your teeth works best.
We caught a mouse using a sticky pad. We put the pad in our laundry tub and squirted Dawn dish washing soap on in. Within a minute or 2 the mouse was able to free himself. Caught him with a rag since he couldn’t climb up the tub side and put him outside.
I can’t believe some of the things people say! Jeez.
Just a few hours ago I freed a mouse from one using some olive oil. He was up, off and frisky after about a minute. No harm done to the mouse and I’m just out a sticky pad.
I used a toothbrush and soapy water - dawn or some other grease cutting soap works best. I scrubbed the glue off of its fur so that it wouldn’t get caught in anything else either. Mouse struggled at first but seemed grateful and calm after a while. Using warm water seemed to help calm it.
Its watching me! I’m scared I don’t know what to do!. :(
I’m glad to see there are still people that know carma works ;)
Olive oil or vegetable oil works best. Soap can harm them. For those who believe that mice deserve to be mice–not in our homes of course–release them far away from your home in a wild area or large park.
You people are sick, those who gave detailed explanations on killing the mice, consider yourselfs, murderers. Show the mice mercy, it wont kill you to do so. We are not scavengers, dont you have a heart. Would you like to be killed in those many manners or be stuck to the sticky pad? My name is Darryll, and those murderers should be ashamed of themselves. You disgust me.
i am a mouse, currently trapped on one of those sticky pads. luckily i am within reach of a computer with an internet connection… please help me, i am worried… i can hear movement upstairs.. i’m only here because i lost my job as a journalist for Mouse & Home magazine and i needed to steal some food. … yes, i’m another credit crunch victim…. oh no, i think i can hear the owner of this house coming downstairs… all i wanted was some cereal, my kids are in the garden and they’re really hungry. i have 8 children. they are wonderful childre–…. oh god, he’s coming in the room, he’s holding some sort of rolled up newspaper and looks mean. i think he’s looking right at me. …. i will keep still so he doesn’t see m
I went to the 99 cent store and saw a WHOLE RACK of those horrible sticky pads. Whoever dreamed that up needs to be placed on a giant adult sized one and left to starve and dehydrate, unable to move AT ALL. I took the whole rack of them and dumped them in the bottom bin and covered them up with some other ****. I contacted the manager and explained my distain with such an item and asked they be removed from the store and the ordering list due to their extreme cruelty. I went back a few months later and they no longer sold them. Hooray!! Hav-a-Hart Traps work extremely well and you can release them, as noted above, in some unoccupied area where maybe on owl can have a good dinner. Not being gross, it’s just nature.
its a dirty rodent u muppets not a pet

i havnt had a laugh for so long .. take it too the vet .. $50 for a $1 trap .. give it a wash and release it .. what a laugh you relese it .. it comes back inside then why have a trap .. and take it out to the country .. do you think the farmer really wants them out there .. its a dirty rodent.
i got the NO RAT tube .. put it on card board with peanut butter .. i use gloves and bags kill with a pointed tent peg then slowly take off sheet .. then put back down..
i think only a few generations ago would be laughing at us
I’m buying one. I have a squirrel in my fifth wheel which I cannot see how he gets in, and is too smart for the traps and poisons. He may have a slow death, but I won’t have my RV destroyed by this little critter. I suppose all these mice lovers are all vegetarians and wouldn’t hurt a fly !!
