When You Think There’s No Way Out
We’d do well to learn from this smart donkey!
Smart Donkey
One day a farmer’s donkey fell down into a
well. The animal cried piteously for hours as
the farmer tried to figure out what to do.
Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the
well needed to be covered up anyway;
it just wasn’t worth it to retrieve the donkey.
He invited all his neighbors to come over and
help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began
to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the
donkey realized what was happening and cried
horribly. Then, to everyone’s amazement he
quieted down.
A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally
looked down the well. He was astonished at what
he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his
back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.
As the farmer’s neighbors continued to shovel
dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it
off and take a step up.
Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey
stepped up over the edge of the well and
happily trotted off!
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds
of dirt.. The trick to getting out of the well
is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of
our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out
of the deepest wells just by not stopping,
never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.
Re member the five simple rules to be happy:
Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.
Free your mind from worries - Most never happen.
Live simply and appreciate what you have.
Give more.
Expect less.
We all could shake off and step up a little more than we think, huh?

This is great!
Funny wisdom, you know what I like :)Thanks for the invites :)
Too weird Silverwing!
So sorry, but it is funny. Offensive? Do you mean the end? I decided to leave that out too.
I felt bad for the mule. Cruel, burying something alive! That bothered me, but I figured people would see the message more.
I liked the message to help yourself out of despair and certain doom.
Thanks Kim,
I love your posts.
Silverwings,
I promise its just as crazy, all true, honest. I couldn’t make it up!
Yes Anthrax,
I get your point, and feel the same, example: I don’t like prints, (designs in clothes), but every now and then, I see one I really like.
Lilies,
I know you don’t usually read long posts, I am happy this reached you. It did me too. Thanks for replying.
Oh wow, you remember my weakness.
Actually i read it fast and skipped a few lines.
But i tried to keep my brain working while doing so.
And it made me smile that i read till the bottom.

Yeah! Greeneyes is a riot!
Hey, I hope you don’t mind if I tell a little story of my own here on your post? Well, I’m telling it anyways! lol It’s a bedtime story my brother told me when I was a little girl. I used to ask him all the time if the stories he told me where true because I wasn’t interested in any made up ones! So he told me it was. Of course, he probably lied… but anyways.
I’m happy he did. It was well worth it! So here goes.
Two toads were happily bouncing around in the fields on a beautiful sunny day as they found their way into a barn. But as they were carelessly hopping around, they accidently jumped into a fresh pail of milk. I guess you could say they were in a very awkward position. So one frog was thinking, there must be a way out of this mess as he was swimming around in the pail. He kept thinking and swimming around telling himself a solution was bound to pop up in his mind. At some point, unfortunately, the other frog got discouraged and abandonned the fight leaving himself to drown. But the first frog kept on swimming, trying hard to find a solution even though he was very tired. Of course, all this swimming finally paid off as the milk turned into cream and eventually, was whipped into butter which obviously, allowed the frog to jump out of the pail.
Ok, maybe it’s just a little bed time story but what it told me is we should never give up looking for solutions to our problems. They may not come in the form that we think they will. But life is sometimes surprising and can offer answers where you least expect them as long as you keep searching and never give up. This has proven to be very true, more than once in my life.
Thank God for my big brother. He’s always been there for me and I am totally blessed to have him in my life.
:)
Lilies,
My strength, you should know, is I really do have an incredible memory. Its due to poor eyesight. Truly I do.

Greeneyes, that was great. I’ll remember it next time I screw up and make an a$$ out of myself.
Do you think he was thinking “who’s the *** now b****”. lol, thanks.
Yes Max,
I think he should of run far, far, away from those awful people who would bury him alive. That part bothered me but I couldn’t remove it without losing the point. He should of at least delivered a few good swift kicks!

Do you think he said “kiss my a##” on his way out:)?
No Quash,
I guess its American, I meant drive by, stop by the house, knock on door, write letters, call me. LOL
We say that, when we are kidding friends. Get it? You guys sure throw me with your sayings! You are British or something, lol, right?
I had a friend from England, the only person I know who drinks as much milk as me, lol, anyway I use to hang up on her. I wouldn’t understand the “hang about” thing. She would say that and I would hang up thinking something happened. I guess it means hang on a second. Well I finally got a dressing down on that, right and proper!
Qash! I got it now. Q’s automaticaly come with u’s to me. That’s gonna be tough!
