life help: Im a highschool student, and I cheated on my religion exam on friday. - Help.com

This post left anonymously

Im a highschool student, and I cheated on my religion exam on friday.

Yes it was stupid, i regret it, and I wish I can turn back time.
Well the factor that helped me regret it, is that I left a cheat note within my exam.
Yes i left a typed cheat note within the booklet of my exam.
I’ve probably never felt worse than this in my life
What hsould I do? what should i say when the teacher/administrator approaches me?

I would say to just try telling the truth, but at my school all the teachers are overly strict, try making your decision based on how you think they’ll handle it.

Um, so you cheated…..and said that you did on a little note? So you cheated so you’d get a good score, then told them you did? Went through a lot of stress for nothing in my view

cheating a religious exam! Oh the irony.

Tell them. They will appreciate the honesty and guts it took to own it. And after all, isn’t forgivness a mandate when it comes to religion?

Forgiveness is a mandate, but there’s always consequences to our actions, otherwise the concept of hell would be moot. I say be honest

i know… the irony…
the thing is, i relaly don’t know how they will react
the best that can happen is that my teacher will let it go, and give me like a 50%
but the worst is getting a 0 and possible expulsion

would it really be so bad to get a low score “like a zero”, if you got it for telling the truth? depending on your current grades the price could be worth it.

You won’t get expelled if you come forward, regardless of the note. I guarantee it my friend.

But if I do go forward, I’m afraid it will look like I did just because I knew that I left the cheat note in my exam and that I knew i was going to get caught

When and if they confront you. Just tell the truth.

Well, so? If they say anything about the note, you own that too.

Just tell them you cheated and you feel horrible about it and you want to make it right.

Ive cheated on so many exams in high school and tests its not even funny. The thing is I was lazy at the time and I knew the material but never study. I go to college now and IM not as lazy and dont cheat.

High school isnt something to be worried about when you cheat. You should get worried when you start cheating in university because thats where you really need to know the material.
